TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

How are the sets looking tomorrow? I’m hoping for supper on the 1653 from Cardiff….

That diagram is currently reliant on 67020 set HD01 coming off Crewe depot to form 1V42 south, if it doesn't then the 1653 will be a unit. Fingers crossed for you!

197105 had started the day on the diagram but yes 67020 is expected to take over starting with 1V42.

The 18:53 is buffet only, it needs changing on the info really. Originally it was the 16:53 that was buffet only, and 18:53 had food. The demand was higher for the former so they swapped them around, hence the discrepancy on the timetable and the website

Ah that makes sense. Certainly the 1653 has been busy enough to feel profitable for food.

Fatality at Abergavenny this morning, unfortunately.

1W59 12:53 Cardiff to Manchester terminated at Newport and the rake (67025/HD02) empty to Canton.

1V39 (HD06/67008) 10:30 Manchester to Cardiff is currently returning to Hereford and will then form 1T59 13:59 Hereford to Manchester and then 1V50 16:30 to Cardiff.

1V42 the 1230 from Manchester was cancelled at Hereford due to the fatality above. Can’t work out where the set has gone from there but not especially hopeful

Just set off, 28 minutes late. Set arrived about 20 minutes late. Holyhead Gerald alongside on platform 2 but sadly not a synchronous departure!

Boards stated reduced catering and no first class, awaiting an announcement onboard to see what that means

No unusually early allocation of 1W11 this week, but can see that 1W57 is showing as 197111 tomorrow. I got a nice first class advance if a Mk4 set is allocated.

Next week I could not get first class on 1W11, so do not know if that is a planned substitution. I got the advance for £33 though and it is a long time since I saw one that cheap.

Thank you. Still was not showing on RTT when I left home this morning. It is indeed 1W11 as I am on it.

2 other people in first already. This may be the busiest I have ever seen 1W11. What will everyone do next week when there is no first class?

Makes a change from going to Holyhead for storage

First on 1W11 ended up quite busy in the end. After Crewe, the host was walking past with a tray and 4 cups of coffee. No one joined me at my table of 4, probably an indication of my general antisocial academic demeanour.
