Interesting, I've never seen that. Please report it to customer service and ask them what the problem is:
If you want, enable error messages (under More > Settings), reproduce it, and include your device ID in your message to customer service. That helps them to troubleshoot.
For what it's worth, I do nothing special to trigger this.

I assume my auth session expires, since I am signed into the app usually, and then it recognises this when I launch the app and forces me to sign in.

If I press back button in-app, it closes the app. If I press the back button of my phone, it closes the app.

If I have been using the app recently, it will usually open back to the screen I was on, show that on top, and the back button will dismiss it until the next time I close and re-launch the app.

Sometimes the app also gets stuck on its splash screen, so I have to hit back to close the splash screen, and then it takes me to the app properly.

It's a good bit of fun.

That is definitely a bug. I now remember seeing your little movie. Keep error logging enabled in the settings (it turns off automatically after some time) and keep pressing customer service when it happens again. They can look at the logging if you give them your device ID.
My Rail Planner app never opens on the screen I was on previously. The app only remains on a screen while it is still open. It may mean that your app was not closed when you thought it was. Nevertheless, it should never force you to sign in anywhere, except if you want to see your bookings from within the app.

I actually still had error logging on when this happened, from my last trip.

I doubt support will do anything again, but I'll let them know.

If I sign out completely, it'd probably be fine anyway.
Then just do that. Being logged in only enables you to see reservations you booked via Interrail, which is not recommended anyway. If signing out still results in any splash screen to sign in, then it's a more serious bug. I just tried it and after signing out, closing the app and restarting it, I go straight to the normal start screen (the planner).

Is there anywhere in the U.K.where we can now buy an Interrail PAPER pass.

Worried about buying from HQ in the Netherlands due to predicted delivery times.

This thread was a couple of years ago.

The Switzerland Travel Centre says:
We offer a range of train tickets, depending on your journey and country of residence. If you have a railcard, please specify which at the start of the booking process, as it can change the type of ticket that we include. If applying a railcard, it must be valid during your travel period.
[snip]
For international guests, a Swiss Half Fare Card, a Swiss Travel Pass, a Swiss Travel Pass Flex or an Interrail Pass may also be included, should it be more cost-effective.

Festiniog Travel says:
Rail passes are available for each country in Europe, in most cases the InterRail range are the most suitable. InterRail passes are also available for the whole of Europe covering travel for up to a month.

Ffestiniog Travel are probably your best bet, otherwise Deutsche Bahn can still post tickets internationally fast as far I know (call from the UK on: 00 49 30 311 68 29 04 although would be posted from Germany). I would be interested to know either way for future reference

Interrail themselves don't seem to publish the exact criteria for who qualifies for a free Cargiver's Pass - but they say that it is 'if you need to be accompanied'.

Myinterrail, on the other hand, seem(ed) to offer one to anyone holding a Disabled Person's Railcard (which could include people who don't need to be accompanied, whilst possibly excluding some people who do).

In practice, I think Interrail will probably give one to anyone presenting a DPR.
I asked this question directly of Interrail.eu and the reply I got was effectively 'buy a full price pass and then we'll tell you what we accept for the caregivers pass' which was less than helpful!
I contacted Ffestiniog who are unable to issue Caregivers passes.
No response from Trainline.
Finally I got an answer out of allaboard.eu who have said they accept a Disabled Rail Pass, Blue Badge or a Doctors Letter (They replied within hours of my request, so seem very responsive)

I have always used the Disabled Railcard.

I've tried purchasing a PAPER inter-rail pass from inter-rail.eu however United Kingdom isn't in the drop down list of countries they post to. This is a bit odd as Isle of Man is on the list. Maybe they've not added the country because previously myinterrail.uk sold them? Good news is that Ffestiniog travel can still do them, but are there any other sellers in the UK?

Yes, weird, I contacted them and got an email back with screenshot instructions. I typed in interrail.eu/en manually then went back into cart and hey presto! United Kingdom appeared. Before it hadn't and I'd typed in United Kingdom which caused a red box to appear.
Moral of this tale seems to be type website in, instead of following the link from National Rail?
Anyway it's sorted now, thanks for responding!

15% OFF Interrail Passes until 31st March.

Paper Eurailpasses (and I assume Interrail passes) are now available without the previous requirement to specify the starting date.

This is great, because it gives travellers 11 months to specify a date, and have the ticket stamped at a staffed railway station.

Sadly not.

Paper Eurail passes do not require a start date at time of booking - paper Interrail passes do.

It has been this way for a while now.

You missed my point.

In the last couple of sales, if buying a paper Eurailpass, one had to specify the first date of travel, unlike during non-sale periods when the pass was mailed without a starting date.

So Eurail BV has learnt from its mistake in previous sales and has delivered flexibility for those who buy a paper pass during this 15 per cent off sale.

That sounds like it must have happened quite recently, after I ceased to qualify for Eurail, but I have bought quite a few Eurail passes in my time, mainly during sales, and have never had to specify a start date.

Sadly the learning from its mistake does not extend to Interrail, where this is not possible - sale or otherwise.

No - what I have said is, to the best of my knowledge, correct (I have used both).

Do you know otherwise?
Oops, I had misread :s

Doesn't seem to be the case this time...!

Just purchased two paper inter-rail global passes, 15 days in two months, WITH THE DISCOUNT, €549 each plus €19 postage.

Process cumbersome. Process failed on phone. Had to use laptop. I had to pretend to buy an electronic pass to enter traveller details, then go back to add the paper pass manually, then input start dates for each passenger. (Going direct for paper pass at stage 2 it would not let me fill in passenger details!) Took an hour, compared to inter-rail UK 10 minutes last time I bought one.

A long, long time ago-think of perhaps even last century, pre 2000, there was considerable difference between INTERrail and EUrail-the latter for I think 98% aimed at Norte-Americano´s then-untill the Japanese also came in the game. THEN it was indeed the case that EUrail was undated (remember/imagine-that was the time of all paper before this www) and had to be filled out and duely stamped before one started the first trip. Due to all the vagaries at that time for trans-atlantic travel, in the early days often still by ocean steamer. EUrail was then also ONLY 1st cl. Rick Steves was a famous travel writer promoting to discover our continent with these passes. Preceding him was Arthur Frommer with books titled ´ÉURope (name country) on 10 US$/day´ EUrail was at the start also not valid in the UK. There were BritRailpasses for that.
In this century this has gradually been eased out and the 2 merged into a common validity-except of course for the homeland clause.
By now there are even a few countries that do not even have any old-style ticket-office anymore.
Make a bet on how long paper passes remain to be on offer.........

I've heard before that it doesn't always work on a phone, usually the payment doesn't work then. I've never heard that you first needed to pretend to buy a mobile pass. I just tried it and and worked just fine for me. So what do you mean by "would not let me fill in passenger details"? Were the fields not visible or editable, couldn't you save the details, something else? Are you seeing the same thing when using an incognito browser window?

When I stated it was a paper pass by ticking the box, the yellow button leading to the next (input passenger details) page became inactive. I could only activate it by ticking digital pass, then onto the next page where passenger details were input, then back to the previous page to tick the paper pass box, then forward again to passenger details to now fill in start date box, then forwards to payment.

Maybe the system just crashed on me, however I got there in the end and with discount of 15% too!
