...but they should have additional 701s available for use by then, shouldn't they?Because in a few weeks, they won't have that 455 to use if this happens again, which it will.

I find it hard to believe they couldn't have covered one single diagram with a 450 or 701 today!...but they should have additional 701s available for use by then, shouldn't they?
It's better send out a train they have sitting spare than short-forming something else, in the meantime. Things really are that tight at the moment 450 wise. There are now no depot restrictions regarding 701s as there are now enough people trained up at every depot to cover all diagrams. So it'll be a lot easier to get more 701s out once they're ready now.Yes okay, but what I mean is, on that diagram with a 455 today, would there really be no way of getting a 450 or 701 out on it without causing a short formation elsewhere? Aka - are things that tight that the 455 is the only option, or would it have been possible to send a 450 or 701 out instead? Because in a few weeks, they won't have that 455 to use if this happens again, which it will.
Pleasant surprise to see it operating this service this morning.
This diagram has got 458415+425 allocated according to RTT as I look now (but I have noticed a recent trend where I've looked at an allocation only for it to change minutes later!)455732+712

458530 is allocated to 5V51, 2V51, 2C61 etc and 458533 is on the 2C09 etc diagram.
A combination of that (and on related other services) and ensuring the 455's end up back at Womble-land each night.Correct diagram change, probably driver issues
Yesterday I noticed 455732 has gained some flowers !. A picture of a group of sunflowers between the pair of windows that are between the doors and coach ends. I think they were just on the one centre car (not the ex 508 trailer). I saw then on one side (where the ex 508 trailer would be to the left as you look at the unit) and I cannot confirm what is on the other side.5712 + 5732 (12/03/2026)

Will have to wait and see if it rocks up on anything tonight!
They’ve been on there a long time! If I remember correctly they were applied about 10-15 years ago when the new AC traction motors were fitted to show off their ‘greener’ credentials!Yesterday I noticed 455732 has gained some flowers !. Correct, 455 732 was the first unit thus treated and was given those decorations when it re-entered service to mark that fact. They’ve been on there a long time! Says a lot about my powers of observation. I suppose I have not really used/paid-attention-to the South Western Division since the last new stock entered service, certainly was before I retired. They’ve been on there a long time! So the first converted and (one of) the last to be retired.Correct, 455 732 was the first unit thus treated and was given those decorations when it re-entered service to mark that fact.
I guess it will be the last retired now along with 5712, as 5717+5727 are all but doomed to a one-way trip to Litchurch Lane.Says a lot about my powers of observation. I found a Dec 2015 post where I photted it at Southampton, they were testing back and forth to Bournemouth, I’m not sure when the flower vinyl was first added however:They’ve been on there a long time! 5712 + 5732 allocated to the same diagram as last night.

Door fault. Train now out of service. The 2010 from Chessington South appears not to have left yet. We're waiting for it at Wimbledon after going to the pub...
Seems to be going to London ECS for next allocated working. Lost more time explaining that to everybody & kicking everybody off…..!Door fault. Train now out of service.
Edit: It ran to Chessington North and was cancelled.
