Both Newcastle United and Arsenal have been charged today by the FA for failing to control their players.

All the pundits seem to be tipping Man. City to do well this season. It was a very difficult start for the Swans and I can see them getting a few drubbings along the way this year.

I dont think even the most deluded fan was really expecting anything else from tonight's game. The games that count will be against the likes of Wigan, Wolves, Blackburn and the other promotees. If we struggle there than goodbye Premier League!

I have just been sent an e-mail from America that states that subject to American visa requirements being met, Tottenham Hotspur will transfer 31 year old Robbie Keane (the Eire captain) to LA Galaxy on a two-year contract for £3.5 million.

David Beckham who plays for LA Galaxy spent some time training at Tottenham not so long ago and contacts may have been made at that time. At the age of 31, Robbie Keane certainly has far more than two years playing career in front of him, if he can keep relatively injury-free.

I wouldn't put money on either O'Neill or Tony Mowbray returning.

Would quite like Peter Grant to be given a go at that position. He did a marvellous job here at Bournemouth as Sean O'Driscoll's No.2 and West Ham still owe us a friendly which they promised when they took Grant from us. He's such a nice guy we all wanted him to succeed.

Could have been a hell of a lot worse and hopefully Swansea will take the lessons they have learned from this match and improve their game.

This is all new to Swansea and as i said to a freind who is a Cardiff city supporter which welsh has managed to keep their word and get promoted to the premiership and not screw up towards the end of the season?

My hope is that Swansea manage to stay in the premeiership and well wil Cardiff manage to hold their nerve this year?

I see that Arsenal struggled to beat Udinese 1-0 in the champs league qualifier.

I think Arsenal with the current squad (less Nasri as he will be going to that other club that we are a feeder to Man City, the other being Barcalona) will not sustain a run in either the premier league and the champs league (should they even beat Udinese). With the next two games against Liverpool and Man Utd to come expect Arsenal to be in the same postion as Swansea so already after 4 games when Arsenal play Swansea it will be a relegation fight.

We had a much stronger squad last season and we couldnt even win the carling cup, so i wouldnt hold out to much for that. It says something when we cant even win our own cup let alone someone elses.

It is going to either be a very, very long and hard season or a quick and painless one one if Arsenal are out of the reckoning by mid September.

Question though, Should i have made this comment in this thread or the thread called Depression?
Because that is what lots of Arsenal fans like myself will have suffer long bouts of in the next ten months.

Our nearest team in sunny Cornwall is obviously Plymouth, first team I ever saw play in around 1974, so sad to see Argyle in such a mess, I take the children a couple of times a season to watch them still, but the way things are going they'll do well to be in the football league this time next season..with 'Honest' Peter Ridsdale in charge...2-0 loss at home to AFC Wimbledon last night sums it up...not good, fair play to Peter Ried for sticking with it for this long, top 'footballing' man

It is such a shame to see Plymouth Argyle in league 1. As a Sheffield Wednesday fan it is always one of my favourite away trips as I know it is many other Wednesday fans as well. The main reason being the great fans down there who actually make you feel very welcome and want to talk to you, something that rarely happens in football these days. Hopefully Plymouth will start the return back towards league one and the championship sooner rather than later.

As for us last night, we made Bury look like Barcelona in the 2-1 defeat at Gigg Lane.

Too put it frankly, Scunthorpe were **** poor. Defenders not closing down, midfielders giving the ball away cheaply, and the strikers seemingly not bothered. Dagnell's goal was the only shot on target, and the only shot attempted by Scunthorpe from inside the area ....

Messi (2) and Inesta scored for Barcelona whilst C.Ronaldo and Benzema replied for Real Madrid.

You never know, you have to play them to realise their potential. It's no good leaving them in the reserves for ages, and not giving them the oppertunity when it is right. Look at Adebayor, Santa Cruz etc at Manchester City, due to their lack of games they are now average at best. Palyers need first team experience to suceed, I think it will be good for the young Belgian.

In the Belgian First Division, he scored 15 goals in season 2009/2010 and scored 16 goals last season.
