Wow, didn't expect that as not many clues!
When was the photo taken? Google Maps is showing the diamond crossing as having been plain-lined, severing the Algoma Central Railway...
And now for something completely different but quite recent...

I took the picture in 2012. I suspected there were enough clues in the picture with the car number and diamond crossing to narrow it down.
I took the train from White River to Franz, and then changed to the Algoma Central Railway to Sault Ste. Marie.

Chiwata? I'm off to Japan next week for 3 weeks (Daughter is living in Tokyo at the moment). This was one of the trips I researched but it's unlikely I'll be able to squeeze it in on this trip.

Looks like a superb day out but probably too much of a squeeze to get down there. Me and the wife only have a 7 day JR Railpass. Daughter has been in Tokyo since September and we haven't been over there yet so wife wants to see as much as possible of her in between her work days so we are all travelling to Kyoto Region and Hiroshima Region. The rest of the time will be in Tokyo or day trips out to other places near Tokyo. Never been before and have always wanted to go so don't want to try and cram absolutely everything in. Although if I was travelling alone I probably would try and cram everywhere in! Hopefully will be able to make a second trip before the daughter finishes her Contract in 6-9 months time.
Will post another one up in the next 24 Hours.
