Crosscountry - Train cancelled to final destination

Last night I received a notification that my booked train will be terminating short. Finishing at Banbury, rather than Reading.

This train is the the last southerly direction XC service for the evening.

I've checked the train timetable, it appears there is a 9 minute gap between this train arriving at Banbury and the last GWR service going back towards Oxford.

My tickets are advance, so are booked to that particular train.

Knowing Crosscountry, it is somewhat of a high risk that the last train will arrive into Banbury late, thus missing that final connection towards Oxford and Reading.

Will I be allowed to use the service an hour beforehand with my advance ticket?

If I am forced to use my booked service and it does arrive late into Banbury, thus missing the final connection, will I then be able to use alternative rail services (which will probably involve to London and back to Reading) in that situation?

The ticket is valid on either of the 2 Cross Country Trains before your booked train or there is a RRB from Banbury at 2200.

There does not appear to be a RRB. Not when I've looked at the NR timetable.

The excuse given is driver shortage.

A bus has now been added, departing Banbury at 21:59. I would expect that Train Manager on the XC service to make announcements telling you where to get the bus/coach from and it should be held for everyone.

I haven't linked to National Rail but it will also appear there.

However as other posters have said you are allowed to travel on the service an hour earlier to avoid it, as per industry guidance and the screenshot from JourneyCheck.
