I am aware it is possible to buy a multitude of rangers/rovers from northern machines, but are specifically West Midlands daytrippers available from them? I haven’t been in the position where I have to get a non northern one from the TVMs so it would be good to have an idea in advance.

Assuming they're marked as being available from TVMs and Northern haven't explicitly blocked them, WM Daytrippers will be available.
If you don't need bus or tram validity, there's now an alternative ticket called AnyTrain which is slightly cheaper (£8.50 vs £8.90 Off-Peak) and that should also be available to buy from a Northern TVM.

I'll remote into one of ours and see if it's there, West Midlands Day Ranger is there but I can't see a daytripper.
Think it just shows as Daytripper, with no mention of WM. Been a while since I looked though.

Nope still can't see it on the LNER TVMs(running the same software as Northern)

Pretty sure I've bought one from a WMT TVM.
It looks like they're one of those weird ones that are sold as a point to point ticket like the Merseyrail ones - possibly because Scheidt & Bachmann machines don't support Rovers directly? (Both Merseyrail and WMT are S&B TVMs).

The TVMs there are Avanti ones which I doubt sell it, but I'd be surprised if the booking office didn't sell loads of them.
Which TOC are you arriving on? I'd expect a WMT guard would be able to do it and would know how.
Intending to arrive on XC.

You could ask the guard but I don't know if they'll be able to do it.
Whilst I suspect it's not frequently requested, XC call at multiple stations where a Daytripper is valid, so I reckon there's a reasonable chance of them being able to issue it.

I've just checked my local one and it isn't on the list, there was a Z1-5 train one, but not the combined one.
Edit: never mind, just seen above, didn't check under N, just D and W
I only need a train one so that will do me just fine. Good to know both are sold though and thanks all
The advantage of the train only ones is that you can apply railcard discounts to them. £5.60 for the whole of the WM Z1-5 is a pretty good deal!
