What other stations could be re-named after pop stars? We might need a trivia thread on that.
It will have been, they have redone every sign on the platforms...The sign was definitely up yesterday. I saw it on the eastern end of the westbound platform.
Taking a station with a reputation for being unable to cope with large events and giving it a confusing name change specifically for a large event: what could possibly go wrong.
Photographic proof... I aren't taking a pic of every one though...Will be travelling past Deansgate tomorrow so will see if the signs are there.

Thank you for making this reference, I was trying to think of a way to do it for ages without confusing the octogenarians of the forum."old man shakes fist at cloud"
It appeared on the BBC North West Regional TV news. One sign, out of the way, for just long enough to get some publicity photos, does not seem to be a genuine cause for confusion (as opposed to several for multiple days or even hours). It seems that no one has actually seen the changed sign, just reports of it or the publicity photos.
Duddeston Moore?Ozzy Osbournemouth
I like it, most would have gone for Sandwell & Dudley Moore.Duddeston Moore?
British Rail also jumped on the bandwagon by pledging advertising support and the creation of 'Bare Crinkley Bottom' station.

People who use/pass through the station on daily basis have no reason to be checking the signage. Infrequent or first time travellers would, unsurpisingly, expect to see the correct station name. Despite claims above that it is just one sign, as far as I can tell all the signs were changed.Ah, the usual faux outrage whenever something like this is done, while the majority of normal passengers complete their journeys on auto-pilot without even noticing anything is different.
There's always "Bernard Manningtree" if some of the elders are feeling left out.Thank you for making this reference, I was trying to think of a way to do it for ages without confusing the octogenarians of the forum.
One does wonder if those people got angry at all the towns that renamed roads in solidarity of Ukraine too.
The irony is that the "who is she anyway" gang probably havent touched Radio 1 in over a decade because its all 'modern crap' to them so dont know that she isn't only a Grammy Winner, but the first female artist to have 4 singles in the top ten simultaneously.
Anyway ill jump off my soapbox now before they accuse me of not respecting my elders too.
Dolly Parton. There's always "Bernard Manningtree" if some of the elders are feeling left out.
Well said. And while we're at it TfL can get rid of the confusing meaningless alternatives for clear and obvious names like "North London Line" etc.
