True, I believe they’re the first open top with the MMC body though. In fact I hadn’t realised BBX had some time with Reading before moving on to Border Buses / West Coast.

Certainly in GSC terms… it’s a shame nothing heads to GSW…

Anyway I believe the Isle of Wight E400s will be heading to Swindon.

Going into Ryde today on a Southern Vectis 9 from Newport, I noticed that when we were up at the top of the town, train departures from Portsmouth Harbour appeared on the information screen in the lower saloon. I didn’t get the bus number, but I think it was an Enviro and the screen was using (throughout) the new style script that has started appearing. How useful this will be I do not know, but I wouldn’t be surprised at people wanting to know where the bus to London Waterloo is.

Was chatting to one of friendly SBC drivers last week Swindon isnt really a profitable area hence why fleet isnt really invested in. He was mentioning about the prices of tickets haven't really increased in line with inflation. Fuel prices, wages have all gone up. For a day rider only gone up by a couple pound in 20 years made alot sense. Have to credit all the engineers in GSC having to keep all the elderly fleet in action daily.

I think less profitable than More/Blue/Vectis/Reds rather than not profitable is more likely

Summer 2026 Timetable

Does anyone know when the summer tt will start and when the details will be announced?

Want to find out the evening services on the 40 and 50 Purbeck Breezer routes.

The summer uplift on the Breezers usually comes in around late May. If the last few years are anything to go by, the 40 will go roughly hourly in the evening with the last from Poole at 2310 and the last from Swanage at 2300 (2200 on Sundays). 50 is hourly in the evening until about 10pm

Thanks I thought it was about then. I was hoping for an early uplift on the 40 as the gaps in the service in the evening are a pain especially the 2 and a half hour gap between the 20:35 and 23:10 from Poole Bus Station.

The only "early uplift" as you say will only be the 60 Sunday service (Poole - Sandbanks only) and the 31 weekend service resuming in Mid-March as usual.

A: They will be used on route 1 between Cowes and Newport, 5 between East Cowes and Newport, 9 between Ryde and Newport, 4 between East Cowes and Ryde, 8 between Newport and Sandown, Bembridge, and Ryde, and route 37 in Ryde. These are some of the busiest bus routes on the island.

Well, I don’t know. The order for the additional buses for the 4, 8 and 37 was submitted six months (or possibly a bit more) after the original order, so they may not follow straight on after the first delivery. Southern Vectis’s site isn’t very helpful: still referring to 2026 as ’next year’.

Has there been any interior photos appear yet? It's always amused me that the current Southern Vectis livery is bright green, yet the interiors are a more toned down blue.

I have not seen anything, but I suspect they will go for a big reveal in St James’ Square in Newport like they did for the ‘73s (or something similar). Though whether they will tell anybody in advance…
