Is there a level at which you'd rather not have the business, e.g. today I'm likely to buy an advance Metro Centre - Hexham and then in another transaction the reverse. Happy to make that Northern's problem if it'll lose you money :D
Not really! Very few transactions actively lose us money in the scheme of things.

When will folk be able to buy train tickets on the forum's site starting or finishing at the new Northumberland Park station, which actually opened today ?

This is the station on the Northumberland Line

Hopefully within the next couple of days - not too long in any case.

Good to know. Turned out to be irrelvant cause a) they're more than I remembered them being, was getting them mixed up with metrocentre - newcastle and b) turned out it would have involved buying an advance after the scheduled departure which I'm 99% isn't possible, but in future I'll go for it with a clear conscience!

I am attempting to buy an advance single from London Euston to Birmingham New Street on Saturday 16 May. The only tickets I am offered are valid on London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway services only, with Avanti West Coast (AWC) "sold out". I find this hard to believe. It is now less than 12 weeks to date of travel but AWC advances are not on sale yet.

My comments can be summarised as follows.
1. When will AWC advances go on sale for 16 May?
2. "Sold out" on Rail UK forums booking site may be misleading as it suggests there never will be any AWC advances for this journey on this date.

In the light of your comments I may need to book for a different route.

The reservation system doesn't properly distinguish between no availability because full and artificially suppressed for booking by the operator in the responses sent back to the retailer.

Q1 is not something anyone but the train operator can definitively answer; it's nothing to do with Raileasy in any case.

It's possibly being held up by 16th May being FA Cup Final day. Chiltern aren't open for that weekend yet either.

Or it could just be that they haven't opened bookings beyond 15th May (which is what the NRE website says).

For Avanti, the best way to get notified when advance tickets become available is by signing up for the date you're interested in at https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/tickets-and-savings/ways-to-save/ticket-alerts

You should be able to check the currently available dates for advance tickets from most TOCs at https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/travel-information/advance-booking-dates/

I'm getting a message about "turnstile" after entering my journey details. I've no idea what "turnstile" is. This is Safari 26.3 on MacOS; I don't have any "ad blockers" or similar installed. Here's the message:

Edited to add:

It seems the "original" site does still work for me.

Are bug reports / feedback still wanted for the "original" site? I'm looking at EDB to DOR journeys, and it's not offering me the obvious options. This is something I've mentioned before, for the "new" site.

It doesn't display it for fun, it means it couldn't load Cloudflare Turnstile. There will be a reason for this - a network issue, browser extension, DNS-level blocking - something that means it can't do a check.

It should really be offering the fallback CAPTCHA at this point, I'll ask about why it doesn't do that tomorrow.

Bottom-line though, if you really have no idea why it's not loading, email customer support.

I'm not sure about Mac computers, but do you have a cache which may be full? Have you tried clearing it?

Well I’ve bit the bullet and stopped using the lner app to purchase tickets. First sale has just saved me 51p through TrainSplit. Got to say I’m impressed with the service so far!

It's a shame with LNER actually because for a while they offered split tickets in their booking engine, for LNER-operated journeys. They've ditched it, either from 'simpler fare' style intervention from their new state owners, or because customers were making mistakes with tickets or something.

ScotRail appear to be the only operator selling split tickets, but they use Trainline's booking engine which isn't nearly as god as the forum website/Raileasy.

I see the layout of the ticket site has now changed and there is no longer the option of having the 'old look'

There used to be a way of selecting 'flexible' tickets .. is this not possible now ?

I am looking for Sheffield to Lincoln return tickets for June (2 adults with senior railcards)

thank you

It is possible, if you give the new design chance and spend a bit of time exploring it you'll find that we've ensured feature parity (and added many new features that had been requested):

Don't really understand why flicking through possible outbound journies should change possible inbound journies (on a different day so not affected by time) so drastically? All advances so not a question of validity. Link to search for completeness if it's relevant

Attached screengrap shows more or less what I described - switching between outbound journies changing the inbound ones available

Typically this will be because some of the overtaken/tortoise inbound journeys that are appearing in combination with one outbound result will be deemed worthless against a different outbound - if there is a faster inbound journey with the same or less changes that's no more expensive (in the context of the selected outbound) in all 4 fare filtering possibilities (all fares/walkup only combined with with std or 1st class), it's deemed pointless and generally will be hidden (it's actually a bit more complicated and I can't remember all the rules, it happens upstream of us, but this is the gist).

I hope that makes some sense at least.

I have just bought return 1st class tickets from Wigan(WGN) to Southampton Central departing 5th June and returning 15th June. (XC)
I did not see the seat selection options before I completed the transaction. I only saw them whilst booking another journey.
I am not happy with the allocated seats - A18 out and A17 return - as I prefer single seats.
Is it possible to amend my seats?
I went on, and registered on, the GWR site but cannot see how to amend seats with a pre-booked ticket
