Proclaimers "500 Miles"

Proclaimers "Letter from America"
I did not think this through.

The Proclaimers also released:

Ill take Platform 2 and you take the disused Platform 2 and I will be on the rail replacement bus before you.
Baker Street, the S7 Summer mix.

Although you could make a case for the Proclaimers. It is not in this case.

And for a more well-known song
Coldplay Yellow?

Darn. I thought the image was from L.F.A.
All the blood that flowed away
Across the ocean to the second chance

And then they almost sang:
Met Line No More
Circle No More
Bakerloo No More
Northern No More
Central No More
Docklands No More
Jubilee No More
District No More

Coldplay Yellow?
Damn you

With the album being Parachutes, the other pictures would then be

1. The Scientist - Clearly the four guys are taking measurements of the train and the Solid Rock calendar allows the control for atmospheric conditions associated with lunar cycles
2. High Speed - The A4. The whole red and green in the river is because the painter did not have time to properly mix the colours
3. Spies - The disguises as Policemen and Pirates were a short-lived phased in British espionage, but this was the 1990s and there were only 4 channels on TV.

Two more brilliant images @Ashley Hill . It is great to see the protagonists rejecting musical snobbery and embracing Madness.

It may be a good way for people to catch missed connections. Run down the platform, grab the lasso and pull the train back. I could have used a train bringing back lasso many times over the years.

I will leave my image series open for a little longer yet in case anyone wants to name the tunes and the album.

Mrs H says I’m a music snob because I like weird German stuff (her words) and not Steps etc. Personally I think I’m quite eclectic and listen to all sorts (except Steps etc). For the record she doesn’t like Maiden :'( . I went to the Dublin Castle in Camden last year. Great place, as is the Cart & Horses in Maryland. No real ale in either but great vibe.

Tonight is the night of the Toton & District British Rail Staff Association charity disco and its in full swing. The railway club function room wasn`t big enough so it was a good excuse to get some of the stored Tugs working to free up one of the depot buildings.
Harriet is at her parents house with the kids, luckily Vivian is around so Dave doesn`t have to dance by himself tonight!

I saw this on FB today, the more you look at it, the worse it becomes.
Was it by any chance FB account Timeless History? The utter dross churned out, seen in this now-closed thread

Commuters - try looking up from your mobile phones occasionally! You might see something far more interesting than what's on your screen.....

Hmm....the ramp from the UFO is mighty close to the juice rail, which isn't present on the adjacent track. Looks like the aliens have beaten JC to the station in the quest for the minds and souls of the gormless commuters.

Perhaps it’s Watford Junction where the only bit of 3rd rail on the mainlines is the short section at the London end of the Down Fast!

No one identified Moseley Shoals by Ocean Colour Scene. The images were "The Day we Caught the Train", "The Riverboat Song", "Pirates and Policeman" (Album track, but I liked what I could do for the image) and "The Circle".

Keeping in mind I am stuck in the 1990s, I am now putting forward this one

Oh no! The smelly train! (i.e. the domestic refuse containers en route from Knowsley Freight Transfer Station to Wilton EfW power station). If love can survive that, it can survive anything!

Does anyone on here collect old Victorian postcards? Here's a classic for you from the great days of the country railway; the annual staff photo at one of Norfolk's quietest branch line stations. Yet one of the station porters seems to look strangely familiar.....

Dark Side of the regular dodecahedron three-dimensional convex polyhedron - taking my inspiration from @Topological who created a fabulous parody of Pink Floyd's legendary "prism refraction" for Dark Side of the Moon, I decided it needed even more edges and light-faces.
On the tsble of a Mk2f FO 2-seat bay, of course.

What if monorail had caught on? Dave & Harriet contemplate the future of rail!
THIS IMAGE IS NOW ON THE REALISTIC THREAD.

How about a class 82 hauling a milk train through Okehampton or Bank?

I've found that Gemini AI - I can't speak for the other AI image generators - doesn't cope well when I try to create images of older loco / unit classes.
That could be due to its data sources or to its interpretations. O
Remember this request from back in July? I couldn`t get an 82 so settled for a Whizzo!
Luckily Dave had his phone with him.

The ramp also acts as a contact arm to recharge the battery-equipped electric UFO. I thought it may have some connection with British Rail's famous flying saucer patent of 1973, but that was nuclear-powered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_flying_saucer

Or Chester, where only one half of a long platform has a juice rail.

If only, life was as easy as a your model railway! As always, Dave is on hand to capture the scene.View attachment 199373
Brilliant.

I hope the electricity has been switched off on the overheads.

I also wonder whether when the loco is placed back on the track it will go speeding off.

At least this explains why people are always trying to contact control (they are literally ringing the people who have the controllers in their hands).
