I wonder how many people are suddenly going to decide to move to places like the UAE, Bahrain or Kuwait, which don’t have extradition treaties to the US or the UK. Perhaps that is why Dubai is so popular now.

They align with whoever is in power. There were plenty of big businesses and their leaders who aligned with Biden or Obama when they were president.
While that's true, industries such as finance, natural resource extraction, and heavy manufacturing have always been more closely aligned Republican rather than Democratic policies.

Assuming that the rulers of those countries, are prepared to protect them, , see once the spotlight lands on any elite, it becomes harder for them to keep their native populations under control especially if the Rulers found themselves implicated,

many middle eastern countries tend to be very conservative in their outlook and won't look favourable on their leadership if found to be totally lacking in morals.

Even more so than in Western countries it's very much a case of "do as I say, not as I do". For example, the bars on the Emirs' private planes tend to be very well stocked.

And when they were only half-way up they spoke with their doctor to see if Cialis was right for them?

It doesn't matter. The Democrats aren't going to throw the Clintons under the bus, for example. The whole affair is extremely stinky and permeates all areas of the US political establishment.

I'm not so sure. They're both nearly 80, his legacy is already a bit tarnished thanks to the Lewinsky affair, hers from the private server business. They're not particularly relevant to today's politics. They may be seen as acceptable collateral damage if it means taking down Trump and swathes of his associates

The Clintons I would think are yesterday's news, it's those business leaders, and others in positions of power, that need exposing, then followed by what were the links to the funding of politicians, and who is fronting the costs,

They (the Clintons) appear to have called the GOP's bluff by appearing before a deposition about the Epstein files - specifically by calling for their testimony to be made in public rather than behind closed doors. The GOP have refused to allow the testimony to be seen.

I think Hilary dealt with this quite well today and I don’t think she was ever particularly involved with Epstein. It’s Bill that really has questions to answer though and he’s not going to find things easy if he’s put under the spotlight.

Indeed. However in calling for his testimony to be made in full, in public they have run the GOP into a trap: how well is the answer "Yes, I was at Epstein Island with Donald Trump" going to play with DJT's base?

And the GOP's attempts to hide the testimony in closed sessions loses the majority of the "Whataboutism?" effect.

Definitely. Although I think whatever Trump got up to with Epstein predates whatever weird stuff happened on that island.

He also never put anything in emails, so his tracks are fairly well covered at this stage…

Just remembered that this is a thread about Andrew. I’m wondering if we should have a completely separate one about the fallout from Epstein?

I don't think you can discuss one without the other. Maybe just make it "Andrew and friends..."?

Or add, and former friends. To reflect the number of people who are, with differing levels of success. To distance themselves.

Current events may impact on the attractiveness of these particular destinations for the foreseeable.

I hope the bruise gets well soon:

The former Prince Andrew was spotted with what appeared to be a large bruise on his face.

On June 4, the former Duke of York, 66, was photographed driving near his Marsh Farm home on the royal family's Sandringham estate. King Charles' brother had a purple mark that stretched from his right temple to his eye and down his cheek, which was visible in pictures captured through his car window.

A source close to the former Duke of York told the Daily Mail that the bruise is not a "cause for concern" and said there had been "no drama." The insider, however, declined to disclose further details due to medical confidentiality.

Exactly where a slap might land if administered by a left handed person; it's even virtually the shape and size of a hand...

Any known left handers in his immediate circle?

John and Jane Doe. (Not my photos)

(Photos show two people waving royally with their left hands.)

Given that Andrew has not been charged with anything I’m (not) surprised that the media is still interested in him, other than that he’s a royal. Trump is not getting this much grief.

That bruise is bigger than a fist
more like the result of hitting a car windscreen or falling downstairs
or the butt end of a shotgun

There is, of course, the possibility that it's a "bruise-like" appearance arising from whatever medical cause - leaking blood vessel, a severe skin disorder etc. rather than stemming from any dramatic physical altercation involving another person or accidental collision with a structure.

Could it be sweat damage? :D

He might have just fallen off one of those horses he seems to be eternally banished to.

Or perhaps he tripped on a badly placed teddy bear now that he has to arrange them himself?
