So i am a Singaporean planning to visit UK in December 2027 and plan to ride the intercity 125 or 225 sets operated by Scotrail or LNER. I would like to know so i wont be met with disappointment in my hotel room.

LNER don't operate HSTs and haven't for some time now. You may have been thinking of GWR but they stopped recently.
ScotRail is your option now. Whether they will still be going in 2027 is anyone's guess though - the Class 222s are likely to head there to replace them, but it's hard to say how quickly ScotRail would get them in service. I'd reckon early to mid 2027 you'd be in with a chance but no guarantees.

LNER do still operate the Intercity 225 sets. They will be replaced by Class 897s but I doubt these will be in service by December 2027.

Sorry, I read the thread title which specifically refers to Class 43 HSTs and somehow skimmed over that (that or it was edited since I replied, should have quoted it
).Mk4s can also be ridden on Transport for Wales services, mostly Manchester-Cardiff but there is also at least one daily Cardiff<->Holyhead. Not technically 225s as they are hauled or pushed by a Class 67 rather than Class 91 though.

This begs the question- how long will the New Measurement Train going to continue with HST power cars? Will these become increasingly difficult to maintain?

They've switched to 43s for the PLPR/UMT up here so I assume they're planning on using them for a while.

Work is also underway, albeit excruciatingly slowly, to fit 16 power cars with ETCS, 4 RailAdventure, 4 LSL & 8 Colas NMT
Not much use to the OP who wants to ride on a 125 or 225
I can't see Scotrail will have switched fully by December 2027 with the glacial pace of 810 rollout...
Some very enjoyable routes to experience the remaining 125's in Scotland. The Highland mainline from Perth to Inverness is fabulous but the run from Dundee to Aberdeen is also very scenic. Do pay the extra for First class upgrade onboard.

The Glasgow/Edinburgh Waverley-Inverness route covers the Perth-Inverness part. Similar the Glasgow/Edinburgh to Aberdeen services cover Dundee to Aberdeen.
