You can check them on brfares.com. The "AAA MILTN KEYNES" ones still seem to exist for Bedford, though it's worth noting that Bedford-London tickets are already valid via Bletchley anyway.

It's about an extra £20 on a weekly, but oddly no extra cost on a flexi.

Thanks for confirming, I assume that, whilst still valid, the TOCs aren't keen to promote such use, hence why its a trade secret?

I think I'm correct in saying that to take advantage of this in GTR-land the season must be issued on paper rather than on The Key, otherwise you can end up being charged additional PAYG fares. Perhaos someone can confirm.

Is there a historical/organisational explanation as to why a high proportion (although not solely) of these are stations in the South East?

I would have thought it's because the South East has the greatest:

1. Density of close-by lines where it's plausible that people might live between two stations on different lines and want to be able to use either line
2. Number of passengers so easements will have historically been requested/seen as advantageous more often
3. Proportion of commuters relative to other areas of the country where leisure travel is more predominant. A number of the interavailability rules apply only to season tickets.

I'm under the impression that this is correct if I recall it even suggests what you stated this the document.

I don't know if there is however a public facing document available that lists all of the local stations that are automatically AAA around the Crawley/East Grinstead etc area.

It is not explicitly written as an AAA on the ticket in that case if that is the particular one you are on about. Is it only those who have KeyGo on the same card that can have this issue?

It's only those with keyGo who will have problems, but I would expect a smartcard won't work many of the gates at these AAA stations.

I've not got the details to hand but there are quite a few inter-available routes in Scotland.
