No, it's still available for the form site and TrainSplit's own site.

Has it gone for good?

It is not going anywhere for the foreseeable.

What has gone is the rather prominent banner link back to the classic site that would show for every single visitor. The new site has been live for long enough it's no longer really "new" and there is no need to direct new customers back to the classic site.

I would suggest creating a bookmark if you want to use the old site.

It's still there, just in a slightly different place - just click 'Filters' on the search results screen and you'll get options for only flexible tickets per the attached screenshot.

So how do we swap back to the old site without the banner? This weekend I've been using the forum's site as that still defaults to the old format, but it would be good to continue my very helpful and historic relationship with Trainsplit!

Perhaps you could put a URL on this thread that directs to the old format, so we can bookmark it from here?

It defaults back to advance tickets with every change of search.

Goes on the long list of techie "updates" that make things worse.

I still miss the few TOC sites which presented the whole day's fares so you could scroll down to find cheapest fares.

A button that just moves the cheaper fares up to the top of the list can easily do that. TrainPal has one. I've suggested it for trainsplit.com before. The issue is it's probably creating a lot of extra searches.

The old site didn't remember whether you'd selected Flexible or Fixed in the session either....

The only thing I can possibly think that's changed here is the Edit Search flow. Clicking earlier or later on the new site will keep the filters as they are. So, are you changing the origin / destination / date and then wanting the filters to continue applying? What sort of change of search are you referring to?

If you have specific steps to reproduce can you please send it to customer support so it can get appropriately triaged and put on the backlog?

We looked at the stats for these controls and how often they were actually used, and I think it's fair to say that the people affected by these changes are a vanishingly small minority.

Yeah, and I miss the days when retailers were not charged bucketloads of money to retrieve Advance fare availability. This is what the rail industry thinks progress looks like.

I would rather fix Flexible as my default preference whether switching station search during one event or as my permanent default.
