Is X2 Preston to Liverpool only serve Liverpool Road (Google) Stop in one direction?

I got off a Preston to Liverpool X2 service today on Liverpool Road in Hoole. On the opposite side of the road, the direction going back TOWARDS Preston the stop has an old timetable for the old hourly X2, the stop in that direction doesn't come up on the Stagecoach app or site, it is not listed on bustimes.org or on Google maps. Also onboard the bus that particular stock is not announced on the screen or audio announcements in that direction yet it is in the other towards Liverpool.

Is there a possibility the X2 is only stopping in one direction?

Does anyone know anything on this one? I'll be using the service soon so could do with knowing. It would be ideal if I could get off at the same stop in each direction either side of the road. Screenshots from bus times.org showing discrepancy in stopping pattern attached.

There are a few stops that seem to have been missed off Stagecoach's data on various routes in Lancashire. If they are not in the Stagecoach generated timetable then the Council's system won't produce the information for that stop. I would be very surprised if the bus didn't still stop there.

There is no entry in Naptan (in laymens terms, the bus stop database) at that location for heading towards Preston so that is why the apps and systems are missing it and why timetables don't show the stop.

Any more examples? I know I've flagged a few of them to Stagecoach. While not fixing a lot, Cumbria has fixed more issues in the past few weeks than Merseyside fixed in around 6-12 months so there is certainly some positive change coming if the issues are being reported to them.

It doesn't seem to officially stop there as on google street view, only the 115 from Chorley/Bretherton stops at that stop, with even the 2/2a seeming to bypass it. I have experienced drivers informally stopping there before but this leaves quite a big gap in the Preston bound trips.

I don't think the 2/2A stops there as it runs on the back road at the top of Brook Lane.

So it seams like this is the issue rather then the service simply not stopping there, yet stopping on the other side of the road in the other direction.

So if the service is not in the data provided by Stagecoach then it won't flow to the Council for timetables or appear on the Google Maps data.

If you're referring to the layby for the san marco restaurant - X2 doesn't stop there but the 2/2a/115 should do.

I think he was referring to the main stops on Liverpool road heading into Preston. I have confirmed that the X2/2/2A do stop on all stops on Liverpool Road heading into Preston. Gray1404 is right, there must be some issue with the data making it seem like that they don't stop there. You are correct about the layby. Only the X2 bypasses it.

It seems this is an oversight in the data. The X2 is stopping at and is listed on the timetable on the other side of the road in the direction towards Liverpool at Much Hoole/Brook Lane.

It is overlooked in the other direction heading towards Preston. I have since slighted from services there and been picked up. The impact of this oversight is it is not listed on the timetable data, the timetable board does not get printed with the X2 on in that direction and journey planners do not recognize the service stopping there.

Who would it be I need to report this data oversight to please? I would say the bus company which is Stagecoach North Lancashire and Cumbria but then their services are stopping there. Or would it be the relevant department in Lancashire County Council?

Many thanks.

Since this discussion last time, Lancashire County council updated a stop so there is now a stop in Naptan at the location you have mentioned. It's now down to Stagecoach Cumbria to update their data to include this stop. When they have done their updated export, in theory it should then feed into their App, Bustimes and eventually Traveline.

i always thought that the X2 stopped all stops.
All stops in Merseyside (and yes, for the pedants, only those on the roads it actually serves, so not like, literally EVERY stop in the metropolitan county!) - but limited stop in Lancashire.

Attached, a screen shot from the latest timetable - available here - detailing stopping points
