I have my DMI on Monday at Par station. What sort of questions am I likely to get asked, and if I'm successful and pass medical, where is my classroom training likely to take place?

Yes I’ve heard, don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect to be on a course until later in the year due to my availability this year anyway!
Plus I’m still losing weight so a bit of time is ideal

Unlikely that anyone will know when, but there is a handy function on GWR's jobs page where you can set up a job alert for trainee driver for Paddington. This has worked well for me previously (Bristol).
Also, just make it a routine to check their job lists on Fridays after 9am, as this is when new job adverts get published, in my experience.

how was the MMI - how many questions ?
Not sure about the MMI as some depots seem to do it slightly differently. It should say in your email what tests etc you will do on the day. I had my MMI on a separate date, 6 questions for the MMI. I believe these vary but there is a good list on this forum somewhere of likely questions and what to prepare.

I had my assessment centre on 6th Feb and had an email on 9th Feb to say I had passed and would be invited to stage two of the process and this was at the end of the email: 'Timescales for the next stage in the process may be extended as a result of changes to workforce requirements'

I had the same email after my assessment centre and also took it the same way as you. I then got an email the next day asking me to book my DMI.
I believe it is just a standard email which is sent out
Also had similar. Did a whole day assessment with MMI at the end of the day. Got an email the next day the same and a week later got another to book the DMI.

Hi, most at mine were smart casual or smart suited. One guy was in jogging bottoms and Air Jordan’s. My email from GWR said to go smart casual so did as asked.

The bit of advice I got before my assessment was as follows.
“The role you are applying for is a serious, complex and professional role, dress to match the role”.
Take that how you will and you may think well it’s just tests why the hell would you want to wear smart clothes, trust me, it gets you in the mind frame (at the very least) of taking this application process seriously. The assessment centre is the beginning of the hard yards to get through so it’s a good start!

Fully booted and spurred gets the prize. Joggers and trainers does not. First impressions and the ability to follow a simple instruction count!

Hi, I did my assessment day and MMI in September, had an email a few days later to confirm I passed and a link to book a DMI which I did approx 3 weeks later. Could have done it sooner but wanted to prepare best I could for it.
Thanks for Ur reply, I see. I only got an email saying I completed the assessment centre and will be contacted for a DMI in due course (4 weeks ago now) I'm assuming that I've passed, considering that they said I'll be doing dmi, without actually specifically saying that I've passed haha.

Hi, just looked back at my emails for the timeline. After the assessment day I got the email like yours to say I had completed it and would be contacted to book a DMI. I got that email later the same day and booked the DMI for about 3 weeks later. I guess it depends on the urgency and the availability for the depot you’ve applied to.

Spoon and feeding come to mind. There is plenty of advice on this forum without having the exact questions in front of you.
I just been to OPC assessment day and failed one test before MMI - i was told i cannot do the test until another year... is that with just GWR or all TOC's, as i have a few applications in a few other toc's?
What was unusual - that one person who was in the group for assessment passed all test before with another toc so only an MMI was require by them, however we all had to do the SJT and MMI form in the beginning so that they can do the MMI for her at the start.
this kind of is unfair right? as it threw us all off the tests.
