Disruption - Landslip, Fitzwilliam 15/2/26

Have safety procedures become more rigorous following landslip incidents, notably the Carmont derailment, perhaps necessitating more time being spent to prevent the likelihood of a similar or worse repetition at the location?

Landslips can look similar, but it depends what is causing them, the geology, type of failure.

I was booked on 1D13 throughout to Bradford yesterday and received no communication from LNER to say that it was cancelled. Indeed I got texts telling me which carriage and seat I was in just prior to the scheduled departure time.

I was advised to go to York on a Newcastle service and then round via Harrogate to get to Leeds. At York, I took a Scarborough - Man Vic service as it was twenty minutes earlier into Leeds and made an Airedale service to Bradford which the Harrogate train missed.

So no warning from LNER. Not their finest hour.

there was a very short notice Doncaster Decoy > Hare Park junction which ran as 6Z99 which must have been this train

Yep used both the Newark thunderbirds, Top n Tail 023/027, looked like a 56 was sent to Newark to deputise for them

I can confirm that both the 67s were in the up side yard around 1300 yesterday although I didn't see which 56 it was at nng.

Yes though due to an issue with the signage put down (IIRC lighting was a problem this morning) trains are going via Hemsworth Loop.

I was at this location on Friday filming a 37 and it’s no surprise considering that water was running down the banks like a stream.

Is it not possible to depart from Platform 9 in the other direction and go via South Milford to get to the ECML?

Is it possible for LNER trains to go from Wakefield Westgate via Wakefield Kirkgate and on to Doncaster via Pontefract Monkhill and Knottingley via the Askern line?

Or do LNER crews not have this route knowledge?

I know that they sign and do run via Westgate, Kirkgate, Calder Bridge, Hare Park Junction-Doncaster. However, I've never seen/known an LNER service travel past Crofton West Junction to Pontefract. Obviously, the Kirkgate-Hare Park diversionary knowledge was of no use in this instance as the blockage was at Hare Park and also the line was blocked at Outwood too.
