Remember those railtour seminar shots?

However, you do wonder how long they were in the Signal Arms since the son has grown up a lot between the two images
In hindsight I should have stuck with my first image which was better. Alas I forgot to add a train, but at least the son would have been the right age. Here it is.

Whilst trying to generate a Valentine's Day themed image, I obtained the following.

Who does not love a railway served mill town?

When taking a trip to Scunthorpe in the realistic thread, it was noted that Scunthorpe North Junction was not actually a junction. The image is here for completeness:

Gemini_Generated_Image_fhj23yfhj23yfhj2.png

The origins of that sign are perhaps best explained by looking behind the camera.

During the heydays of the railway many enterprising rail leaders were trying to reach Scunthorpe. One particularly enterprising project was indeed the Clitheroe, Scunthorpe and Sussex Railway. They were a particularly enterprising bunch and planned to drive straight through Middlesex way before the notion of a Bedford to Brighton Thameslink was an apple in the Bedpan's eye.

Construction on the line started in the 1850s, having gained royal approval the year previous. The plan was to approach Scunthorpe from the north as there were rich opportunities for biomass freight to Drax power station (I mentioned that the project was enterprising). Sadly for the CSSR, the biomass flows did not generate quickly enough and the growth of cement in Clithroe needed the land from the CSSR station there. Clitheroe Central was built, but annexed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway for their route to Victoria.

Relations between the CSSR and the Uppingham, Scunthorpe and Adwick were really strained. The result is North Scunthorpe Junction. The bridge being built without the connection for the incoming CSSR line was a real affront. The stub for the CSSR was constructed to complete the move.

The subsequent battles and the building of the lucrative Scunthorpe North battery cell development plant on the south side of the river was a further two fingers to the CSSR.

Many will have studied this in school I am sure

Wow! Wonder Woman beer as well as pasties! If Brewdog had thought of that, perhaps they wouldn't have had to enter administration. ;)

However, since when has Wargrave been on the Greenford branch?
Too many pints of Wonder Woman. New image provided above. Its meant to be Castle Bar Park!

The recent landslips in the Wakefield area are nothing new; thanks to mining subsidence they've been going on since the 1950s.

It all seems incredibly realistic to me. I go to Italy a few times for work and definitely recall the lack of thought about the English interpretation of Italian words. I recall the trains being so small relative to the long road overbridges too. The image just screams Italy. The whole conversation is an excellent commentary on the real differences between Italian and British rail systems.

After approving HS2 to run on a dedicated pair of tracks next to the Bescott Line through Wolverhampton, we find a delay to the Manchester Piccadilly train.

(I wasted one go trying to get the name changed to Piccadilly and I think that can be allowed here)

Very good. Do they sell St Austell brewery HSD? (Locally known as High Speed Diesel).
I do like a good Tribute and have had a couple of other St Austell over the years. The problem was always the lack of football teams down that way and the fact I only visited Plymouth a couple of times.

I believe they have a good selection of stills where the guards compartment is. Sort of like the Dolphin on the Barbican in Plymouth.

I am surprised no one has repurposed a HST as a bar in a park though. It would certainly be a USP.

Pint, or pitch-er?
Fantastic stadium, so good that Gemini got jealous and shrunk one of the stands. Other teams supporters may argue we would be ok with less capacity, but...

That picture also shows how strong the pitch is, can support a HST power car without even a slight indentation of the grass.

I quite like the idea that the moment a goal is scored a HST speeds onto the pitch, the bar opens and the first few fans on get a pint.

If PNE ever make the prem then there would be time for the HST to undergo a C6 exam before VAR finished checking whether the strikers ear hair impeded the defenders finger nail.

That's because it's a light engine! :D

Annoyingly, the subsequent few image results had a closer-matching stadium but naff looking HST bar.

I think you're onto something there. 8-)

Bass out of the barrel :D.
Ah you do know it.

I could not remember the road it was on so Googled. Says they have a lot more choice now. When I used to go 2004-2010, there was only really Bass. I think there might have been Tribute on one visit. Definitely got Fish and Chips from the nearby chippy and ate them in The Dolphin. Simple but great place. Used to be a reason to look forward to Plymouth away.

Makes me wonder what New Blighton is like this time of year.

Gemini can still be temperamental about the trains themselves. Mine has learned what a Transport for Wales Class 150/2 is, but as soon as I use my pro allowance then I get something very similar to your 142.

Now that Pro is back I wanted to build upon @Sun Chariot offering of an on pitch bar. Here we see the Gloomfield Road version:

I fondly remember the soporific sounds of split-flap display Solari departure boards.
Vegetation clearance on the Portishead line.

The reversal of the decision to scrap elections has led to ad hoc arrangements being put in place:

A “sliding doors” scenario. What if Michael Portillo had ignored the objections and opted to close the Settle to Carlisle line in 1989?
