Yup. XC used to stable a spare Voyager (and a 170?) in them through the day, however the walking routes to the sidings have been out of use for about 3 years now since resignalling took place, so it no longer happens. You do occasionally get trains passing through the sidings still though.

So, presumably, 1SG is "(No.)1 Siding", and (No.)2 Siding and (No.)3 Siding would be 2SG and 3SG respectively?

XC used to put the spare Voyager in 1 through and the 170 in 3 through. 1 through is still in use but 2 and 3 are currently out of use. Although you now have to get a line block to walk on the walking route from platform 5 to 1 through which is, quite frankly, an absolute nonsense. But 1 through is definitely now in use just that the rollover unit doesn't always materialise.
