The 0605 Littlehampton to London Bridge, which normally runs Monday to Thursday (not Friday) is not running next week according to planners. I can't see any announcements about this on any website.

Have you checked the Southern website?

For the four days between Monday 16 February and Thursday 19 February, there will be amendments to Southern services between Littlehampton / Bognor Regis / Eastbourne and London Bridge and between East Grinstead and London Victoria.

On Monday to Thursday, the additional peak-time trains between Littlehampton / Bognor Regis / Eastbourne and London Bridge will not run.

This applies to the:
● 06:05 Littlehampton to London Bridge via Worthing
● 06:47 Eastbourne to London Bridge
● 07:02 Bognor Regis to London Bridge via Horsham
● 17:03 London Bridge to Eastbourne
● 17:33 London Bridge to Littlehampton via Worthing
● 18:03 London Bridge to Bognor Regis via Horsham

Customers will be able to use other services to complete their journeys, with connections to alternative trains available at stations such as Haywards Heath, Three Bridges and East Croydon.

For Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be eight (four in each direction) additional off-peak trains between East Grinstead and London Victoria to provide a half-hourly service during the middle of the day. A half-hourly service already runs all day on Thursdays and Fridays.

Both of these changes are being made to better align services with demand during the week beginning 16 February, when it will be the half-term school holiday in Sussex and Surrey and demand for peak time trains decreases, as more people travel in the off-peak period instead.

The standard weekday timetable will resume the following week.

These seem sensible changes. However, it would be good practice to write these changes into the timetable rather than deal with them as short term planning, particularly as they will presumably apply during all school holidays.

Not this again...

It also happened during the most recent October half term. Understand the rationale if it's to save diagrams (not that it's generally been an issue for Southern in previous school holidays), but it's particularly frustrating when it forces one to have to stand on a Thameslink service back home from London Bridge as all the seats have been taken through the core.

Disagree - Long Term Planning focuses on the whole timetable period. Plus school term dates do vary a little from year to year, that information isn't always available at timetable submission at D-40.

Fair point, but the dates for December 26 to August 2027 are available now which is around D-43. In pre-privatisation days it may have been easier: the LMR could put dated school trains into the annual timetable in the 70s (Cambrian Coast...).
