Inspired by the concept of a pair, and wondering what you get for a pair in this game, I looked back over some photos of walking holidays.

Mostly nice pairs, but pairing trains in opposite directions on the same track is not a way to run a busy railway

Love thy Self - a certain demographic of Brit is drawn to be appearing on a certain reality show, perhaps seeing it as a "free holiday" for them. Not done as an ego-massage...
For them, that programme now has a Great British holiday destination...

When on holiday it is always nice that a popular band are playing nearby. Imagine a well known couples delight when they discover the venue is the nearby school hall!

I am going to have to pull you up here @Ashley Hill . Clearly you cannot have a summer holiday in Altnabraec at the moment by train ;)

Inadvertently AI has solved the problem though. Cannot use the existing platform? Use the one on the other side of the train.

I am waiting until next week when the Spice Girls are reforming to play the village hall.

There was meant to be a sign saying Extra Trains Next Weekend but it kept merging with the Iron Maiden poster who were playing in the school hall the following week.

Something's on the line - an angling holiday yields a couple of surprise catches.

No way past, no way fast - the great British cycling holiday for middle-aged wannabe athletes. The beautiful scenery can be enjoyed at crawling-pace, behind lycra-clad buttocks.

Eastern promise - an image recalling 1930s family holidays to East Anglia.

A controversial one perhaps…
Wonderfully evocative @Iskra
I'm surprised Gemini rendered your Bulleid's smokebox as a hybrid, air-smoothed and a rebuilt. I've done several of each version, no problems

Recalling holidays to East Anglia but with the evident excitement of a trip to that other bastion of sky blue, Coventry. I can see similarities.

I see too that Sun Chariot tours have branched out into rolling road blocks too. Now one wonders what happens when the cyclists meet the conga line tourists of a few pages back. What happens on tour etc.

Meanwhile, at the seaside in more modern times a queue has formed at the 197 Ice Cream Hut.

At the end of the line...

It does seem that the rock supplier chose to send the wrong product. I do not think this means TfW are sending their 150/2s to Brighton.

Holiday beginnings - following on post 768, this time we're in the LMS coastal territory.

Love it. 8-)
Nipp-y day? I imagine a pasty stall will be along soon.. ;)
Are those LMS vans the predecessor to the caravan in later images?

If this gets moved because no one remembers the Class 47 Hoover then the game is gone.

Always pay attention to your destination when going on holiday. The form of transport may have been a give away here, though the price for a return ticket probably was not.

I think the next question is what is the name of Kings Cross (presumably located in St Pancras given St Pancreas looks like modem Kings Cross)
Dreading is unrealistic, so the image is in the other thread.

I am having this one as what it looked like when I first went there (roughly)

I did come up with a version that looked more like St Pancras but Gemini put a typo in the station sign.

Rest day - British workmen's day-holiday rail excursions, also known as mass meetings, were popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian years.
These two North British area images are inspired by trains of the Railway Companies, in accordance with the 1883 Cheap Trains Act.

It is great to see they strung the bunting out in Pleb-on-Sea. I often find that I am greeted by such bunting, but obviously the practice was perfected over years of trials before I ventured to Pleb.

Meanwhile, in suburban Cardiff, the summer merry-go-round of passengers going to Barry Island is in full swing:

If rumours are to believed, and the 398s are as late as some on the 398 thread suggest, the 3-car 150s from Northern might need to lend their centre cars to TfW to meet this summer's demand.

Saturday is the last day for February's realstic railway-related AI images with a Great British holiday theme.
Lots of great pictures posted this month - thanks all! Thanks @nlogax for such a good choice of theme!
Sunday 15th February, reverts to your realstic railway-related AI images of any subject.

I now have a wicked image of a 37-hauled South Wales MGR: HAA hoppers loaded with holidaymakers instead of coal. ;)

I love it @Topological 8-) Especially that British holiday quirk of buying enormous inflatables and then insisting on trying to squeeze the things onto public transport...
One in your image looks just like an inflatable karoke mic! :D
