SIN Singapore My input from the last about 12 years from when I started keeping records. I think I can guarantee some unique ones from the lists so far, including humanitarian air strips and some other 'difficult' airports. A couple of these I have visited more than 100 times, so far Manchester and Amsterdam, but a few others are coming close (Brussels Zaventem and Charleroi are well on their way at above 50 each) and a number of other notable runners and riders above 25 (Liverpool, Nairobi, Eindhoven).

Edited to add: first work trips of the year are now booked, so I will soon add YEG Edmonton, Canada; ACC Accra Ghana; TML Tamale Ghana for 2026. After a slow start to 2026 (just one flight) it's good to be putting pins on the map again.

Here's my list, copied and pasted from the website I use to track my flights. Like the poster above I also see a few unique ones listed amongst this thread, such as Funafuti (Tuvalu). Of the airports listed, DXB Dubai, Doha, CDG Paris and Shannon, I have only connected and never left the airport; and Accra I never left the plane, the plane just called there for others to board / alight. My most recent addition was on Friday, when I flew into Manchester for the first time.

I also like @GRALISTAIR's idea of tracking airports which I've walked to or from. I was thinking about this the other week when walking from Nice city centre to the airport. Note that I don't count walking to an airport railway station, hotel, or some other facility that's on the grounds of the airport or which primarily serves the airport (for example the Gatwick Airport Travelodge which involves a public footpath through a gate at the back of the carpark I haven't included). For this, my list is fairly short: Nice, Lisbon, Gibraltar, Toulouse, Tallinn, and Basel.

You're right - humanitarian for me. Though that being said, there were a few tourists on my last flight from Istanbul to Kabul and again on KAMair from Kabul to Herat. I was chatting to a lovely Polish lady who was solo travelling around most of Afghanistan. Fascinating country, rich culture, fantastic food and utterly majestic.

While much of my flying there is commercial, we do use the humanitarian air shuttles where needed. Jalalabad is only served by the humanitarian airline and is a shell of an airport, with some metal chairs staring at blank concrete walls riddled with bullet holes, and hole in the ceiling and wall from mortar fire. As a joke when the airline supervisor asked if there was anything we needed (my colleague and I were 2/3 passengers on the flight...) I said 'just the business class lounge'. He laughed and said 'of course'. We sat thinking nothing more of it, when he came back a few minutes later, asked us to follow him, whereupon he unlocked the airport manager's office, ushered inside and poured us fresh cardamon spiced tea and lovely locally grown nuts and fruit.

The airport manager's office was straight out of the 1980s, with draylon everywhere and rather fetching orange curtains.

back in the 70s I’ve been on a few flights from kirkwall to some of the outer isles, at the time loganair did a route around & back - I was attached to an OCC official & we visited three isles, but I don’t remember which. As there wasn’t much of a view, reflying wouldn’t refresh my memory I think - but I don’t think the hop to papay was one of them.

It absolutely is. I got a perfectly clear day for it, which I was expecting as I'd booked it the same week after watching the weather forecast.

That was without doubt the best travel day I've ever had, and one of the best days of my life. Words I never expected to say about a day that didn't include a train!

Got the bus to Glasgow Airport, flew to Barra, bus to the ferry terminal for the ferry up to Eriskay. Spent the night there in an Airbnb I've stayed in before. The owner is your typical Scottish granny, so I was sat for the best part of two hours just having a catch up. Then it was off to the local pub for food and a few, featuring a couple of pipers playing. Absolutely loved it all. I had family on a cruise in the Caribbean at the time looking at pictures, and they were jealous of *my* trip!
