Sorry if the title is an odd one, I was using the ScotRail and LNER app a few days ago (looking up or to the point making sure trains were the same time as before), as well as using Railboard

ScotRail: my train in March leaves Dundee to Glasgow at 1312 few days ago on the ScotRail app it was updated to 1324 then less than couple days later it was back to 1312?

LNER: for some strange reason, my train from Dundee at 1109 next week was running non stop to Edinburgh (not picking up Leuchars and stops towards Edinburgh) was listed to hang around Edinburgh for 20 mins but not arrive in Newcastle til 1420 (this was same day as looking on ScotRail and Railboard), checked again and it’s normal time is 1355 in Newcastle. Just to add I did find it odd to see this as non stop as it’s always picked up along the way.

In terms of LNER it was listed as Dundee, Edinburgh Haymarket, Waverley then Newcastle but I see as mentioned normal stops from Dundee to Edinburgh, then Edinburgh, Berwick and Newcastle (as planned).

I’m aware of timetable changes recently in regards of LNER but question is where does this info come from to then change back?

I wish I had took pictures of this as this was not imagination!

Were you looking at weekend services? May have been late alterations caused by short-notice engineering work, or the cancellation of pre-planned work.

Yes it would be good to know what exact dates/days you were looking at, and we can see if there have been STP (short term plan) amendments made to those services.

The dates were the same dates of my original bookings

LNER: dates was 2 February and 6 February (Monday/Friday) (Dundee-Newcastle)

2nd February 1109
6th February 0903 (both LNER)

ScotRail: 23 March 2026 1312( Dundee-Glasgow) at time of booking the original times were there as planned but I was looking again as a one off last week and times had changed to then go back to the original set

If this helps anything.

The Railboard app had displayed my Dundee-Newcastle journey as non stop from Dundee to Edinburgh and missed stops such as Kirkcaldy, Inverkeithing as missed if that narrows it down (but same on that app it’s normal stopping)

The journeys booked are mostly weekday than weekends, just strange to me.

There were diversions in place last week between Haymarket and Dundee - trains ran non-stop via Stirling/Perth and would drop into the path of the next fast Anglo-Scot service as they arrived into Edinburgh too late to meet their usual path. This wasn't necessary northbound as they'd just arrive later into Dundee.

I can't find any references to such work being planned to take place on the 2nd/6th Feb.

As mentioned it appeared one day then seem gone the next, any ideas on ScotRail for March for the time alteration ie it’s still at 1312 but was posted as 1324? (This train is I call it as a Dundee local to Glasgow from Platform 3 or 4)

On the LNER I’ve been on a diversion via Perth good 6 or so years ago and that was on the intercity at that time lol

As you explained as well if diversions were in place last week how do the diversions per se appeared on future travel? Surely it would be irrelevant (ie you would see normal stops instead of fast?)
