I wonder if someone from EY has been looking through this thread as it appears that the data issues for service 18 have been fully rectified. Saturday journeys are no longer listed as serving James Street and Wagons & Horses, and all journeys are correctly listed as running in/out of York via Fulford Road.

However, the data issues with service 84 serving Aldborough, Marton & Grafton on a Saturday morning persist.

I also notice that Scarborough services (and York Locals) timetables are branded as 'North Riding' on EY's website, although are not under the 'North Riding' section yet. Instead, Procters service 182 has been moved from 'North Riding' to 'Go Ahead West Yorkshire'. Although the trial service 15 in York has not had its timetable branded with 'North Riding'.

Just skimmed the changes - very interesting about the 35 departing via the back of the station and I can see that saving time in the future and it only misses out the one stop anyway from now

Can't wait to see what the new times for the early morning X46s are and I hope the 05:15 stays

The 182 does run wholly within what was the West Riding.
It has now been moved back to the 'North Riding' section. Additionally, Scarborough services, York Locals (including the 15) as well as service 1 are all placed under the 'North Riding' section of EY's website. Although the timetable of the 15 is not branded as 'North Riding.'

It makes sense to consolidate all the North Yorkshire operations under one brand. For example they never quite knew whether the long distance services out of Scarborough should be “Scarborough Locals” or “East Yorkshire”
To be honest, that was the case for many a year. From 1986, you had Scarborough and District, and East Yorkshire. I think it was because a) Scarborough wasn't in East Yorkshire and b) the United Auto staff at Scarborough and Pickering didn't want to transfer to EY so it was a diplomatic means.

So you would have EY on the 121 to Hull but the summer shorts were S&D.
The mix of “York Locals” and “North Riding” on York services was needlessly complicated as well
Yeah - completely agree. I'm pro-branding but only where it doesn't become overly complex. Go North East (the Sunderland local services and myriad of brands) and First Kernow were other ones that went down that rabbit hole.

Not exactly the biggest thing, but I noticed at York the other day that the X45/X46/X47 have moved stops from RC to RD though the timetables don't reflect this

Not surprising, Stop RC has become ridiculously busy with the X45/X46/X47 as well as the Coastliner and First's 10, all of which are popular services. I imagine this has been done to move some people away from an overcrowded stop to a less busy stop. Also, as both Eastrider and Coastliner buses wait at York Station for quite a while, it was quite common to have the X45/X46/X47 stop at RD to make room for other services. I'd expect to see this updated in timetables from 16 February to coincide with the timetable changes.

Stop RD also has the open top buses stop there along with National Express

Yes, but the Nat Ex services are far less frequent than Coastliner and the 10, so the stop is not overcrowded. The open top buses don't tend to be too busy this time of year.

Just curious - are the rechargers special to the electric buses or if one was seriously low on a tank of Yorkshire's finest electrons, could they roll up to a Tesla station or other electric car point and juice up?

As far as I'm aware the rechargers are specifically for electric buses

Ah, right... I was wondering more on if the buses could *only* recharge with their rechargers or if they could use any generic electric stands in a petrol stationor service station.

Now, nothing has been officially announced yet but the Moorsbus website has updated their page to show the map for this year's services. What is interesting is that, for East Yorkshire, the M1 and M3 are running on Saturdays as well as the usual Sunday and Bank Holidays. Also, unless another company is running another M3 which I doubt, it appears to go to Darlington now on Sundays as seen below

(also, sorry if I have formatted this wrongly in the text above and I trust somebody like a mod will come along and adjust accordingly)

I believe Arriva North East are returning to the network this year having been absent during 2025. Therefore the M3 from Darlington to Pickering on Sundays will be worked by them.

Along with the M5 seemingly, and probably a joint working of the M4 with a York based operator (Transdev?). If Arriva is covering the M3, then perhaps EY is then operating the M7 over to Helmsley on Sundays.

The M8 seems to have been popular last summer, as it will operate on Saturdays and Sundays. I wonder who will operate it, perhaps interworked with the M7 or M31?

The M3 has usually been run by two different companies, with one bus coming from the north and one from the south, providing a more frequent service on the 'core' route between Pickering and Danby. With Arriva missing last year and nobody stepping in to their shoes, it didn't happen in 2025.

You're assuming that EY will be running the service from Hull.....

True, but Stagecoach don't want it and have never wanted it according to the Moorsbus organisers unless it has changed fairly recently. One of the reasons, I was informed, was that in the event of a breakdown, something would have to be sent all the way from Hull which they didn't want to go through the trouble of organising whereas at least EYMS have got Scarbados and their famous FART van to come out and arrange a new bus

First, point of order - Arriva did technically make an appearance on the network last year... Albeit for one day only

Second, I presume that in the past this was before the funding was cut and what is now M1/M3 was operated as the ME1

Thanks for sharing this. Looks like a big improvement on last year - Saturday buses, and a return to Northallerton, which was off the network last year.

Normally, the M3 & M4 are run using two workings. The M4 uses one company from the South (last year Transdev, with interworking with the M31) and one from the North (usually Arriva, last year it was Northstar) and the M3 ran from Darlington.

In previous years, Arriva ran a round trip between Guisborough and Danby on the M3, using the M4 vehicle, with them (or in 2024, Hodgsons) operating the M3 through to Pickering from Darlington. The Darlington working would shuttle between Danby & Pickering during the day, and also go to Dalby Forest (Thornton-le-Dale in 2024) on the M7. York Pullman then used the M6 vehicle on the M7 as well. The M7 didn't run this year, and instead, Pullman ran another M6 to Rosedale.

On top of this, Arriva would run the M5 from Stockton to Helmsley via Northallerton & Thirsk, and then shuttle between Helmsley & Thirsk during the day.

In 2025, Arriva didn't join Moorsbus (except for the one-off M45) due to lack of staff. This meant that Teeside's only Moorsbus service was the M4 with Northstar from Middlesbrough. EY then ran the M5 from Thirsk and interworked it with the M8 to Castle Howard. Transdev ran the same service level as Reliance in 2024.

Go-Ahead are an obvious candidate for working the Sunday/Bank Holiday M3 but not East Yorkshire but rather Procters; Darlington is 10 miles nearer Leeming Bar than Wetherby (X98/X99)

I think they may have different plug connectors but the big issue would be that a car charger probably isn't rated to give sufficient charge to do anything useful. Just had a quick look for a comparison and a brand new Nissan Leaf is quoted as having a 75kwh battery, a Yutong E12 has 422kwh (or 350kwh if you don't need the range) so even if you could connect it would take ages to get a noticeable boost (you need 4 or 5 times the charge to fill a bus over a car roughly). A lot of bus companies these days fit double chargers, where the 'plug' has 2 joined heads so twice the power can be fed into the bus in the same time to get enough charge in quickly enough to not fit with bus workings.

Thank you... I've always had a curious mind when it comes to technical matters so I was wondering if it was possible

The source of information that it is Arriva working the Darlington M3 turns is a member of their commercial department.

Matt Ashton from Go North West will take the role on a six month secondment.
I'm a bit surprised that Stuart Fillingham wasn't promoted from Commercial Director to Managing Director.

What is the general feeling about this, good, bad, indifferent?
To be honest, Ben Gilligan isn't leaving EY in the best state. There is a lot of work for Matt Ashton ahead.
