Excellent, thanks - that should save me a bit of time
Is there anything you think we could do to make it more obvious as a feature?Where can I find the favourites bit? I couldn't see it earlier (hence asking here!)
Not sure, sorry. Now that I know it's there, it looks quite logicalIs there anything you think we could do to make it more obvious as a feature?
I'd like if they were in the app. I don't often make repeat bookings on my PC, but I do on my phone. Is there anything you think we could do to make it more obvious as a feature?
This I would agree withI'd like if they were in the app. I don't often make repeat bookings on my PC, but I do on my phone.
My view is that the fulfilment picture is still a bit rubbish. No possibility for proper E-Tickets, and availability of Trainline's mTicket v2.0 ("sTicket") is far from universal. Lower commission too, and in some cases they don't even save passengers that much money - flexi seasons are generally a bit of a waste of time in that respect especially. Is there any plan to add season tickets? Apart from rovers (which I know have been discussed here before) they're the only thing I don't buy via trainsplit/RailUK Tickets.
Maybe make it clear that if a railcard has been applied to the regular journeys, that the purchaser should check the railcard is still in date? Otherwise, I can see a raft of posts asking for advice for buying tickets without realising a railcard option had been ticked. Is there anything you think we could do to make it more obvious as a feature?
I was interested in suggestions to make the feature more discoverable.Maybe make it clear that if a railcard has been applied to the regular journeys, that the purchaser should check the railcard is still in date? Otherwise, I can see a raft of posts asking for advice for buying tickets without realising a railcard option had been ticked.
I believe this issue has been sorted now, and indeed the results I'm seeing for that search look much more sensible.Any idea why the site didn't offer me the 1000 LNER ex Edinburgh today for a journey to Dorchester, while the Scotrail site did? This was at around 0920 today.
It only offered some CrossCountry trains, and then the 1200 LNER. I'm on the train now and there are plenty of seats.
There is a cheeky TOC exclusion in the data, excluding LNER.
I will ask someone to get this reported, as it should be removed.
Can you provide a link please?Hello everybody. For the below journey on 24th Jan I was expecting to see all results at £19.40 as NRE does. Is there an issue ? Thanks
The journey planner isn't happy about the cross-London journey going via Bond Street on a "not valid on HS1" ticket, as far as I can see. It's not an issue with the more expensive "via London" fare.Hello everybody. For the below journey on 24th Jan I was expecting to see all results at £19.40 as NRE does. Is there an issue ? Thanks
Ok thanks. If I did that would I still be able to take the Bond St Elizabeth Line route ?The journey planner isn't happy about the cross-London journey going via Bond Street on a "not valid on HS1" ticket, as far as I can see. It's not an issue with the more expensive "via London" fare.
If you add a force change at Paddington, it resolves the problem (but the journeys take slightly longer because of the tube journeys taking longer), but it's definitely not expected behaviour.
Yes, the £19.40 ticket is valid via all of the journeys in your screenshot.Ok thanks. If I did that would I still be able to take the Bond St Elizabeth Line route ?
Can you provide a link please?
That’s great, many thanksYes, the £19.40 ticket is valid via all of the journeys in your screenshot.
Sure, thanksWe'll take a look at why Bond Street (Elizabeth Line) isn't being validated as a change point for a cross London transfer.
Is anyone able to take a look into why this search is returning sold out (and not showing a return leg at all)?I'm trying to plan for a journey from Hag Fold to Stratford International next February, and I understand I won't be able to get my desired itinerary due to having too many changes (onto slow trains to stop at all the stops), but while I can get the parts to (sometimes) work seperately, if I disable splits (because I want the £78.55 Off-Peak return), it just says no reservations avaliable (one time it gave me just First Class tickets, but I haven't been able to repeat that).
Since EMR has disabled reservations pending 810s, and all the Avantis still have reservations when I turn the filters off, I have no clue what's doing it here.
I want to travel via Uttoxter and Attenborough (and then get slow trains the rest of the way to St Pancras) on the way there, and travel via the Lioness line to Watford junction, then slow trains to Rugby, then via Stone.
As far as I can tell, this is all valid as per the routing guide, but (from what I've read) the new Terms and Conditions require me to get an itinerary showing (at least the route of) the trains I want to take, so I can't just buy the ticket and go on my own routing.
I don't mind that it doesn't show the slow trains, but I don't want to have to argue about the validity via Uttoxter/Attenborough or on the Lioness line or via Stone.
Example search that doesn't work at all:

Looking at the routing maps again, I can't seem to find the mapped route showing Uttoxter. The journey planner is discarding the SVR because it thinks you're "Off route at Stoke On Trent".
No worriesThanks for your help!
We have the ability now to just give the journey planner specific trains and force it to validate the route & fares based on a list of input services, which I suspect would suit power users (who already have an itinerary they've constructed) trying to achieve what you're doing by "abusing" the Via/Avoid points.I've got the base route working in the system now, just seeing how many slow trains I can put on before it breaks
I've managed to get the journey planner to give me an itinerary I'm happy with (outbound has all the slow trains until Thameslink, since that would hit 9 changes (and then go over to 11th in total) and return has the stop at Stone, couldn't get it to give me the Lioness line, but I doubt I'll have any issues there), even managed to get the reservation on the Avanti I wanted without even having to add interchange time!We have the ability now to just give the journey planner specific trains and force it to validate the route & fares based on a list of input services, which I suspect would suit power users (who already have an itinerary they've constructed) trying to achieve what you're doing by "abusing" the Via/Avoid points.
Yes, I would definitely be one of those two people (and only usually make one or two big journeys like this a year). Obviously not reasonable to spend all that effort for just a few of us, the engine is already great as it is!It's one of those features I think about two people would use about once a year, so quite hard to justify providing a UI for. But it would be possible...
No need to apologise! It definitely takes a certain kind of person to voluntarily take 5 hours extra to get to London (but stop at 32 new stops, and 7 new changes!).(who I would describe as nerds, sorry)
It gives the impression, to a layman such as myself, that the system thinks I’ve arrived at CS ‘too early’.
Ok many thanks. So I’ve done nothing wrong ?It's getting rejected with code 2020 (Denied before start date): Ticket is presented before the start date; which lines up with you getting the "Seek assistance 19" / Not Yet Vl error.
It'll need to be looked at by the operator responsible for the equipment at the station, I think.
Indeed not. The SE website will happily sell super off-peak tickets for the 1000 from Tonbridge. The reason that the itinerary suggests using the 1008 is because they both end up on the same train from London Bridge to Cannon Street.Ok many thanks. So I’ve done nothing wrong ?
Thanks. So are you saying it’s the itinerary that is the cause (rightly or wrongly) ?Indeed not. The SE website will happily sell super off-peak tickets for the 1000 from Tonbridge. Not quite Mike was just highlighting that what you're doing is valid as shown by SE's website selling a ticket for the train you're catching. But systems default to the 1008 as that's the faster journey.Thanks. So are you saying it’s the itinerary that is the cause (rightly or wrongly) ?
If a ticket is valid after 10.00, does it mean that you can't board a train at 10.00, since that is not after 10.00?

However in any case the itinerary isn't relevant to a gate as they're not smart enough to understand such concepts. The issue is an error within the gates themselves as they're rejecting your ticket for being used before it's start date for some reason.
Yes but that's not what the restriction text in this case says:
