There was one quite astute point he made in his speech I thought. He was talking about the high cost of houses and saying that if he just passed a decree making houses cheaper to buy, he would then be making current home owners much worse off. So he has to walk a tightrope between reducing cost of house purchase whilst also not de-valuing existing houses. It's something you don't actually hear very often. People are very quick to say "they can just make houses cheaper to buy" but you don't often hear people then say "but what about the current homeowners whose houses will suddenly depreciate massively?".
