Just sat a Stage 1 assessment with GA. Absolutely brutal but pleased to say I passed. Was incredible to see how many candidates were unprepared. 11 started om assessment, 4 passed.
Great to hear - will be doing the same at Stratford at end of month what prep did you find worked best… I’ve worked through the info so many times now looking to get some different sheets and questions… did read earlier on that you used an app for tones?

WAFV - You stare at a white screen with a grey square box right in the middle and it flashes slowly but continuously. When it flashes black, you have to press the green button. This is the easiest test of them all. It lasts for around 30mins so it will get boring. I was bored when doing this so make sure to keep concentrated the whole time. Keep blinking. Everyone should pass this. So easy.
ATAVT - A road picture flashes on the screen for about 1 second then you have to select whether u saw pedestrians, bike/motorbike, motor vehicle, road signs and/or traffic lights. Some pics might only have 1. Some might have all of them. Only press what u definitely saw.
2 Hand - You have to move a ball around a path using 2 joysticks. The left joystick moves it left to right and the right joystick moves it up and down. I would say get use to the sensitivity of this before starting the test. U get to practice before anyways. I practiced so many times before starting, the woman assessing literally tapped me on my shoulder and told me to start the test coz I was practising so much.

The MMI length depends on how u answer the questions and if the assessor thinks u have gave enough detail for each question. For some people its 1hr. For others it might be 2.
I have also received an email to complete an online assessment. I have not opened the link as I am unsure what these tests are so trying to get some info first.
Has you friend told you what the online test was based on? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you manage to find out what kind of online tests Northern are doing? I did one last year with CrossCountry and it was to do with shapes and cubes which was very annoying and unnecessary so I am hoping Northern's tests aren't the same.

The tests are not fair actually. Remember, just cause somebody gets a better result on their theory test does NOT make them a better driver on the roads. Same applies here, doing a psychometric and passing it does not mean that person will be a better train driver than the one who fails the tests. These tests are not necessary, instead they should be doing tests 'relevant' to the job. For example, I did a online test for CrossCountry where I was required to figure about number of sides of dices, cubes, octagons, hexagons, how to fold to make a specific shape etc.. I mean what has that got to do with Train Driving? My 11 year old passed those tests yet a lot of 'PHD' and 'Degree' holders failed that online test. My 11 year old was good at it because she is good at picturing shapes in her head cause of the games she plays on Roblox, whereas not every adult has a 'baby mind'. If they want to test people fairly then they should be asking questions relevant to the job and doing roleplays to see how someone handles pressure and not bloody how to figure out how dices and shapes are made out of paper... Might as well ask us to make a paper plane instead!

The examples arent great, even though I never failed pre 2024 I still believe I only get 2 fails as opposed to the 3 now, and I'd hope if thats the standard I'm held to I'd get the 6 month between tests too, but my situation seems relatively unusual.
I ask as I'm in for a role now but haven't even made DMI yet so hopefully psychometrics would be after my year anyway should I pass Video Interview / DMI
I'm doing it with WMT so it needs to be enhanced level... im bricking it! The TOC cant/wont tell me if I have to resit all the tests on level 1 or just the one I failed... all I got back was.. 'you will be asked to sit the tests you need' ! Not helpful.. so im thinking I need to prepare for them all... incase I have to sit them all again.... would be helpful if I was given more info but ive tried. But I do know it was TEA OCC I failed on before. Thankyou for replying... in all honesty.. I dont feel prepared... but I can only try my best again
quick question, Group bourdon test, will this be dots or letters? always understood it to be dots but practice material I have been given is letters, but then it says "this is SIMILAR to the actual test" so im thinking it could still be dots, just want to know what to practice! Im sitting my tests at RCG in Manchester if that makes a difference

Hi, I did this in October and there were parts to it: 1. A situational judgement test, and 2. A 2 minute speaking exercise that assesses your grammar/ability to communicate clearly.
Hi, I did the online test 3 days ago and there were 3 parts to it. 1. Perpetual speed test (error checking), 2 and 3 were Situational Judgment tests based around Safety and Resilience. First part was 12 minutes long to do 15 questions and the 2nd and 3rd parts were 8 mins each to do 8 questions.
I got asked to go to in for a psychometric assessment... I am confused cause I don't know if it's the actual test or just a pre test. They sent me some materials and the materials seem to point towards the ACTUAL test. The issue is, I haven't even done a DMi yet.

I have been called in for an assessment next week... I am not sure if it is the actual psychometrics or just like a 'pre test'. It's all confusing now. Before it was DMi then psychometrics but now after the Online tests there seems to be more steps. I've had to take a day off next week and if it's not the actual test then I guess I'll have to take more days off in the future (and I don't have many more holidays remaining at work).
Ah sorry can't be of any help. Good luck to your mate. It would be interesting to find out what the assessments are like, I guess it's got to be a positive though as the amount of people they weeded out from the assessment day was brutal, but fair.

I got to question 20.... supposing they are all correct... would that be an enhanced pass? Anyone passed at enhanced tell me what question they got to? Just worrying i havent done enough to pass... (im 99% sure my 20 questions are correct!!)
