Slandering would be to make false comments, which I'm not. First West Yorkshire didn't really care for anything during the time that he was head of network, other than when WY Metro was leading something (Ie Leeds City). And the same is happening now at East Yorkshire since he joined, a lack of care for anything. He put on his Linkedin that he was 'responsible for legal compliance' at FWY, but yet East Yorkshire is still failing to send data to BODS within the legal timeframe (and when they do, there are bugs with it) and Proctors still hasn't updated their data once since East Yorkshire took over. That's not slander, it's facts backed up by BODS (https://data.bus-data.dft.gov.uk/timetable/?organisation=401&status=live) and that is despite multiple registration changes since then.
That does not prove anything. FWY hasn’t cared for years even across multiple management reshuffles. If the result stays the same no matter who rotates through the company the problem is higher up the chain and baked into the organisation and not one individuals line on a CV.

Imagine spending your time researching an individuals CV, putting two and two together and making 5... bus enthusiasm has changed since my day.

Whilst I think BODS is important, I think EY has far bigger problems that need attending. The lack of service updates is appalling and unacceptable, the phone line being reinstated is a start but far from enough. Last month saw a spat of breakdowns, on York services it was daily for the span of roughly a week, and the breakdowns on Moorsbus last year were well documented on here. These all need sorting out immediately. Yes, BODS needs sorting out but it shouldn't be EY's first priority on a long list of problems.

Am sure they have problems, but not sure how the other person who stalks a linkedin profile and makes assumptions can put this at the door of that person.

Route X3 is being withdrawn and 128 (renumbered to 28) is being cut back to 2 hourly. Seems their competition against Viscount was a waste of time.
I'm pleased to see their obvious attempt to muscle out much needed competition on this route has failed.
Moorsbus has been really successful and the service will be enhanced. Good team effort between East Yorkshire, Moorsbus, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council.
Passenger numbers were the success story; EY reliability was a joke. Let's hope Stagecoach get the contract this year.

Fully agree with this. I complained to EY a couple of weeks ago when two service 141 runs were cancelled in full from Bridlington leaving a three hour gap in an hourly service which is funded by the local council. Neither showed as cancelled in the app. The reply I got said "on some occassions, we are not always able to update the app as quickly as we would like". I wouldn't have thought you'd need several hours notice to update 'real time' information, but hey ho.

I'm told by some of the Moorsbus people that the Facebook posts by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire massively increased the numbers of passengers and which caused two weeks of full and standing

EY just directs me to the personalised travel alerts. Completely useless as they're notifications of service updates - service updates that don't exist.

I agree BODS is just one part of their problems but I think it plays into a bigger thing that the division just doesn't give a stuff about passengers. And poor choice in directors, plays a part in that.

Not sure you can blame all the alleged ills on one person in the organisation though, sounds a bit personal to me?

You can say the same about East Yorkshire too, if we're being honest.

Go North East is appalling and Go North West is only a bit better because franchising means that they have to be.

I think it is fair to question the experience of senior managers, especially when they have a career history which involves other problematic operators. I certainly question the very senior managers at Go, the likes of Nigel Featham, given that poor industrial relations and poor bus maintenance issues seem to follow them around like bad smells. But it's a fine line between that, which is legitimate criticism, and a personal hatchet job based on a couple of lines on LinkedIn. I'm sure I've crossed the line sometimes.

As for BODS, the system isn't fit for purpose and has never been fit for purpose. The fact that so many operators struggle with it indicates that the issue is with BODS and not with individual operators.

Organisation which the individual is a director. And as a director who was "responsible for legal compliance" in his previous role, should know about BODS compliance and to consistently fail to comply with it, is shocking behaviour. There are firms now being fined and having their licences cut over open data issues. The fact that hasn't nudged him to sort things out, says a lot about him and his lack of care.
That's not what legal compliance means in road transport.

It doesn't mean that you are responsible for every single legislative rule, whether that's BODS data, making sure that the kettle in the drivers' rest room is PAT tested, or that the Payroll Dept has correctly applied someone's maternity pay.

Legal Compliance is about complying with those areas that affect your operators license. So it's about vehicle servicing (making sure that vehicles are MOT-ed, meet service intervals, tyre safety etc) and drivers' hours compliance. The sort of legal compliance that affects the safety of staff, passengers and the general public.

I agree you can't blame them for all ills. However you can put blame on someone for an issue, where the issue lies in an area that they are responsible for and they lack oversight of work produced within that area of the business.
As a director (whatever area you cover), if someone is having to report poor work from you or your team to a group level director because of such issues that could ultimately lead to public inquiries and action against the ops licence, you should be shocked and would leap into action and get the issues fixed and improve oversight of the team going forward (After all, no one wants to be the one who has the most fingers pointed at them if such a thing were to happen). Given though that nothing has changed and the same faults are happening again and again and the director doesn't seem to care, that is concerning and I think that fingers should start being pointed that person isn't fully up to their job.
Combined with some other issues which seem to be on par with how a previous employer would have dealt with the situations (which is the relevant to a past jobs)

Legal Compliance is about complying with those areas that affect your operators license.
Correct. Failure to comply with BODS can and does lead to action against the ops licence. Infact, it happened to one operator just before Christmas (Link). Issues surrounding reliability can also result in action against the ops licence though in most cases action tends to only be taken when the issue is within the operators control.

Apologies - what I meant were those issues that REALLY affect your operators license; the ones that will materially impact on safety. When you look at the case you've highlighted, whilst BODS compliance was an issue, I'm thinking that there may have been greater considerations in the TC decision... like the 460 instances of unaccounted mileage on tachos, the prohibitions, the countersigning of vehicle inspections (and the actioning of remedial actions).

That may be what the press release says, but the full written decision is far more illuminating as to the actual substantive reasons behind the TC's conclusions. As @TheGrandWazoo says, the multiple incidences of buses being driven without tacho cards in them (in one example, for a distance of 282km) and the poor recording of defects on vehicles clearly had rather more to do with it than anything else.

Julian Peddle, whatever you may think of him, has in my opinion repeatedly hit the nail on the head with his criticisms of BODS.

EY has published the full details of service changes from 16 Feb, including branding changes:
These changes include:

More reliable timetables across North Yorkshire, Hull, East Riding and York
An improved Service 4, extended to serve Scalby Mills and the Sea Life Centre
Improved links from Ravenscar, Burniston and Cloughton, with Service 9X providing connections to Scarborough Hospital and Proudfoot Superstore
More convenient links to the North Bay seafront, with most Coaster 12 extended via North Marine Road and Peasholme Gap (making it easier to reach Peasholm Park and Improved routing via Bempton Lane on evenings and Sundays.
Extra journeys on services Y12/Y14
An extension to Anlaby Road Lines 52, providing new links for the Willerby Parkway area
North Riding – bringing services together under one umbrella
Over the coming months, we’ll be bringing all of our North Yorkshire and York bus services together under one umbrella: North Riding.

This will also include our Procters “Dales & District” services. Customer research has shown that having several different service brands across the area can be confusing, so this change will make it clearer and easier to recognise our services. This will complement our existing North Riding services and will make it easier to navigate and understand the network, including the key destinations served across the region.

As part of this update, we’ll soon be introducing new network maps and updated timetable publicity. You’ll also start to see the North Riding name appearing on buses and across our customer information.

All North Riding services, including the Procters network, will also soon be shown together across our website, online timetables, and journey planning information, making it easier to find the right service in one place.

Summary of changes
North Riding services
Service 2 – Scarborough Town Centre to Evelyn Drive
Timetable changes will improve reliability.
Customers will benefit from a later journey home, with departures now at 17:25 (Monday to Friday) and 17:35 (Saturday), replacing the current 17:10 journey.
Due to low demand, the 07:10 Saturday journey from Scarborough will be withdrawn.
Service 3 – Scarborough Town Centre to Hutton Buscel
Service 3 will operate a simple hourly timetable Monday to Saturday between the Town Centre and Hutton Buscel:
Service X3 will be withdrawn due to low passenger numbers on this trial service.
Services to and from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside will continue to operate with Service 28.
Service 4 – Scarborough Town Centre to Scalby Mills (Sea Life Centre)
Timetable changes will improve reliability.
Service 4 will operate approximately every 75 minutes, Monday to Saturday.
We’re pleased to be extending Service 4 beyond Newby to serve Scalby Mills and the Sea Life Centre, operating via Coldyhill Lane, Cross Lane and Scalby Mills Road
Returning via Field Lane, Scalby Road, Proudfoot and Newby Loop, then the normal route to Scarborough.
This improvement builds on the success of stepping in last year to protect bus services in the Newby area, helping ensure local residents continued to have access to key destinations.
We will be monitoring the service closely and will work with customers and stakeholders to grow passenger numbers and, where possible, increase frequency in the future.
Service 5 – Scarborough Town Centre to Ravenscar
Service 5 will be withdrawn and replaced by Service 9X.
Following customer feedback, Service 9X will provide improved links for Ravenscar, Cloughton and Burniston, including much-requested connections to:
Scarborough Hospital
Proudfoot Superstore
Services 7 & 7A – Scarborough Town Centre to Eastfield (loop)
Timetable changes will improve reliability and provide more resilience during peak times, particularly in the Seamer Road area.
Services 9 / 9A / 9X / 10 & 10A – High Mill / Scalby to Scarborough Town Centre / Cayton
Timetable changes will improve reliability.
Services 9 and 10 will now terminate at Scalby Road after serving Scalby and will no longer serve Field Lane.
Daytime Service 4 will provide services in the Field Lane area.
Service 10A will continue to operate via Field Lane, operating:
Early mornings and early evenings (Monday to Saturday)
Sunday daytime
Service 9X will operate as the normal 9A route to Scarborough Hospital, then via:
Scalby Road, Field Lane, Burniston Road, then as per the previous route to Ravenscar.
Service 28 / L28 (formerly 128) Scarborough to Helmsley via Pickering and Kirkbymoorside
Service 128 will be renumbered to Service 28.
Timetable changes will improve reliability.
Lady Lumley journeys will run as Service L28 and will remain open to the general public.
Service 81 – Malton to Sheriff Hutton to York and Service 194 – Malton to Hovingham
A new timetable will be introduced to improve reliability.
Services 12 (Woodthorpe / Monks Cross / Haxby)
Times changed for reliability, with minor changes as a result.
Additional weekday journeys will be introduced:
14:26 from Piccadilly to Woodthorpe
15:05 from Woodthorpe to the Railway Station
On Saturdays:
14:25 from Piccadilly to Woodthorpe
15:05 from Woodthorpe to Piccadilly
An additional 08:10 journey from the Railway Station to Woodthorpe
An additional 08:35 journey from Woodthorpe to the Railway Station (Customers can continue through to Merchantgate, as the service forms the 09:00 Service 747 to Pocklington).
Coaster services
Coaster 12 / 12A & 12C Scarborough - Bridlington via Filey
Timetable changes will improve reliability.
Most Service 12 journeys will continue to and from Peasholme Gap (Monday to Saturday) via North Marine Road, restoring a regular service along this corridor.
This improvement has been introduced through partnership working with local stakeholders, helping us to restore an important link for customers.
The change will also make it easier for Coaster customers to reach these destinations as we approach the start of the spring and summer season.
Following feedback from the East Riding EP Forum (a regular meeting where local community representatives and stakeholders share feedback on bus services and travel needs across the area), we are delighted to introduce the following improvements:
The last two journeys, Monday to Saturday, from both Scarborough and Bridlington will operate via Bempton Lane
All Sunday journeys (both directions) will operate via Bempton Lane

We have been working to improve reliability on these routes, but have been disrupted by major roadworks on the A1079, and Jock’s Lodge. Our teams will continue to monitor performance and make further adjustments where needed.
East Rider 41 and 141 Hull or Castle Hill Hospital to Bridlington (via Beverley)
Times changed for reliability, with some changes to early morning and evening journeys.
Greater Hull services
Service 35 – Hull to Willerby

Service 183 Hessle Town Service
After customer and stakeholder requests, the service will now serve Hessle Railway Station and the Priory Park and Ride Site, giving customers the option to shop at the Aldi Store.

The X3 being withdrawn isn't surprising, it was quite clear that EY was going over the top with the Pickering services in response to Viscount and that some cuts would be made.

The changes to branding is good, EY had too many sub-brands to be honest. Although I wonder if they'll keep some route branding for the Scarborough 7s, like say the 58 in Hull. I wonder if we'll actually see Procters vehicles repainted into EY's livery.

The additional journeys on the Y12 are great, hopefully a restoration of half-hourly services throughout comes soon, as the demand is certainly there for it in my experience.

I was surprised not to see changes to the 46, I had seen rumours of it being absorbed into the X45/6/7, including from Stuart Fillingham on his (now deleted) Twitter account. But alas not, and the 46 continues to stick out on the network, I imagine it comes down to depot workings as its worked from Pocklington, Elloughton & Bridlington during the week.

Is that confirmed or is that another expected list
Confirmed because I did some research on motorscan. You might think that It’s not confirmed For 20317-20321 but it’s because CMY - CNE aren’t registered yet.

Based on my experience of Stagecoach's recovery and reliability, yes. On the final day of Moorsbus last year, EY delivered multiple vehicle failures with buses that were less than six years old and got passengers back to Hull around five hours late. I'd suggest Stagecoach (or almost anyone) could do better than that.

You can say the same about East Yorkshire too, if we're being honest.

Go North East is appalling and Go North West is only a bit better because franchising means that they have to be.
Agreed. The consensus seems to be clear that EY has gone downhill since the Go-Ahead takeover, and there is likely a link to company culture. Change was always going to happen as the focus shifted to a more commercial one, but the fall from grace has been swift and significant.

North Riding – bringing services together under one umbrella
Over the coming months, we’ll be bringing all of our North Yorkshire and York bus services together under one umbrella: North Riding.

This will also include our Procters “Dales & District” services. That sounds like an improvement - I won’t miss the dealer white Procters buses, and replacing Dales and District as a brand with Procters didn’t make much sense. Go West Yorkshire branded MCVs have been quite common on the 73 lately, though.

Odd geography for the network maps - Scarborough and Leeming Bar; and presumably Pocklington will have buses from both brands?

It makes sense to consolidate all the North Yorkshire operations under one brand. For example they never quite knew whether the long distance services out of Scarborough should be “Scarborough Locals” or “East Yorkshire”

The mix of “York Locals” and “North Riding” on York services was needlessly complicated as well

Doesn't matter, BODS is a contributory factor and It's been brought up in multiple Public inquiries now. The facts of the matter are, compliance with BODS is the law (whether people like that or not) and so far the commercial director is not ensuring compliance with said law.

I'm not sure why on multiple threads you are happy to sit back and make excuses for and justify failure within the industry. It's because of attitudes like this, why the industry is in such a state! Poor actions should be held accountable. End of.

End of.
Have you a personal issue with this director? Seem a tad obsessed with the individual!
Seems a bit unhealthy.

That sounds like an improvement - I won’t miss the dealer white Procters buses, and replacing Dales and District as a brand with Procters didn’t make much sense
I wouldn't be surprised if the Procters fleet names are simply replaced by North Riding ones, at least in the interim. That's the case for 20523 (ex-Procters) which had its Procters fleet names removed and replaced with East Yorkshire ones, no repaint as of yet.
Odd geography for the network maps - Scarborough and Leeming Bar; and presumably Pocklington will have buses from both brands?
Scarborough will most likely be consolidated to North Riding and Coaster. Leeming Bar will be North Riding & Go Ahead West Yorkshire, although Leeming Bar won't appear on maps for the latter. Pocklington will have North Riding, East Yorkshire & Eastrider. Pocklington will likely still have East Yorkshire vehicles on North Riding and vice versa, as they often do now.
The mix of “York Locals” and “North Riding” on York services was needlessly complicated as well
York Locals should've been merged into North Riding when the latter was introduced.

Relevance to the post made? Infact, I can't see a single point there about a transport manager.... Interesting. You also know very well that I don't discuss finer details of my qualifications or working arrangements on this forum. As we have gone through previously, so not sure why you still probe for information that you've been told before, I wish to not share!

It's interesting though that the post I made is right, and you know it is right (compliance with BODS being the law, and it has been a contributory factor at multiple PIs, and there is proof to back up that across the EY division the data is not upto scratch), you try to deflect onto something else. Because god forbid anyone call out poor actions in this industry, you are right onto the threads to back up bad actors in the industry.

Ok - here goes. As you should know, Transport Manager(s) are listed on the O license and they are the role that deals with Legal Compliance.

BODS is a legal requirement BUT is doesn't have the same importance as those safety critical issues. The example you gave did indeed extend to contravention of BODS legislation and it is a legal requirement that operators must conform to. However, I would lay good money that the investigation was driven by the safety critical elements i.e. the maintenance failures, the drivers hours' infringements, rather than non compliance with BODS legislation. DVSA has limited resources and they will prioritise safety critical issues.

In my lived experience as an O license holder and a Transport Manager, I've had to deal with the man from the ministry. One can only surmise that you haven't had that experience.

2 electrics in Anlaby Road yard can been seen from the bridge one double and one single
The double will be MV75 EOG (20939) as it was reported by East Yorkshire Enthusiasts as being at Anlaby Road last week, unsure about the single though.
