Yes, all the 455/7s have ONE 508 trailer car.
They are only covering for failures if there's no other suitable stock available. That means that one or more 455 diagrams may be activated at minimal notice at any time of day. As Peter suggested, monitoring in real time is the only way to pick them up.

But watch for changes after he has posted by using RTT to search for the units allocated.
Easier if you look for 8car at Vauxhall, as generally excludes pairs of 450s on mainline trains, actually generally excludes all mainline trains. But there is a danger will miss a Reading service, although also checking for 8car at somewhere like Ascot covers this
Good point (the not stopping trains are in a lighter font). That is more useful than not being able to see the wood for the trees !.
You could also just select the filtering options and select calls/passenger calls only, that would filter out any trains passing through that are not booked to call at Vauxhall (or any station you are searching for). That’s a lot easier than potentially missing what you’re searching for because you are subconsciously filtering the sheer number of greyed-out fast services.
Thanks to your morning info today. That meant I kept an eye out for the same units re-appearing this afternoon while I was in London. Got a trip on 4555716 + 455727 from Clapham Junction on 2V49 17:07 Waterloo to Waterloo anticlockwise via Hounslow. Then at Putney we crossed a pair of 455s rammed on their way West - must have been 455712 & 455717 on 2O53 18:00 Waterloo to Waterloo. I thought I saw a pair of 455s outside Wimbledon Depot earlier around 16:45 rather too late for my target and did wonder if a second pair might be out !.
