Hi,

Is Aberystwyth Krono Colas located at the railway station at Aberystwyth or is it on a branch line further away?

Many thanks

It’s on the north side of the running line to the east of Aberystwyth station and opposite the Vale of Rheidol station.

My (Apple) phone’s satellite map clearly shows the stockpile of logs being accumulated for the train.

Just loaded up Apple Maps and can see exactly what you mean plus the outline of two Class 37s (one is 97) at the front of the consist. Many thanks!

Does anyone know if the logs to Chirk are running this weekend? If they are, when does the inbound working arrive at Aberystwyth?

Many thanks

Having been delayed a week due to the "storm" the empty train is running on Friday:

And the loaded train on Saturday:

Here's a photo of mine (attached) showing the train loading at Aberystwyth. As others have said it's parallel to the Vale of Rheidol site and you can see the railway station the the middle distance by following the running line to the left of the locomotives.

Many thanks for all your help, this is amazing. I am hoping to catch it on Saturday so will keep an eye out. Is the image you shown captured from a bridge or from a pole?

So it turns out that path for 6J14 appears to not be running now with 6C54 having been activated instead: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:H20690/2026-01-16/detailed

No problem, I used my drone from an empty car park, but a pole would definitely be possible. It's really flat around there with no bridges..

Fingers crossed the weather will be okay.

Unfortunately the 6J14 daytime path is never used - the empties always run to Aber in the early hours of Friday,
presumably to maximise daylight hours for loading.

MARK
My bad, thank you
