The plan I’m told is two driving trailers off the 4 TC being split off and shunted with wheel skates for removal via former freightliner terminal then road, 2 x class 20 to do this
middle two Trailer cars ( brake standard & first) are being sent to Southall in a sandwich
loco - MLV 2 x trailer- MLV - loco

Bit off topic, but what are the MLVs doing at Southall? According to Wiki, there are four of them there. I always assumed it was either wrong or they were just rotting there. On the contrary, these two look to be in very good condition. Are they usually used for anything there or are they just preserved there? Seems odd to have them there hidden away and rarely seen.
(Mods - feel free to move to another topic if appropriate)

Preserved. They went to the Mid Hants Railway for its 2022 diesel gala with 2-EPB 5759 (later 416259).

EPB Preservation Group operational fleet now mainline registered.

We are pleased to announce that our operational fleet, 2EPB 5759 and MLVs 68001&2, are now back on the "Rolling Stock Library" (a register of mainline approved rolling stock.) This means it will be easier for the units to travel on the National Rail network. 5759 keeps the existing number, whilst the MLVs officially are 931091 & 931092. This is a great milestone and has taken hard work by our preservation team, new members are always welcome to keep our units up to the high standards required.

Last update on the Swanage unit was August, they expect the TC3 unit could ready early 2026 (if they have enough funds?)
The 3TC will be completed this year, but I’m not sure if it will be ready for the diesel gala. The London end DTSO (76322) and TBSK (70824) only need some minor finishing work, and the Swanage end DTSO (76275) will return from Ramparts next month. The TFK (70855) is also under overhaul at Ramparts but will be a bit of a longer job. The full 4TC is currently targeted for 2027.

That’s great to hear, thank you for the Swanage TC update.

Going back to the TC, I did have a small thought last week. Is there any collaborative working between those at the SETG at Strawberry Hill and those at TfL heritage? If the space was available at Strawberry Hill, I wonder if it would be better to be based there than West Ruislip?

West Ruislip Definitely isn't the best place to store heritage units , the Cravens 1960ts heritage unit has been covered in graffiti while being kept in preservation there.

However I doubt they would be able to squeeze the 4TC into strawberry hill , and even if they could what would be the point , it doesn't have the benefit of being able to keep itself powered like the 4VEP as the TC is an unpowered set. It would be much better to move any other preserved EMU over there.

The 4TC will be moving later this week. On skates to the Freightliner depot, then driving trailers detached and will be going by road to Southall,
The driving trailers have arrived at Southall, after some difficulties with a road junction in Greenford.

On a slightly related note; does anyone know what's happened to Sarah Siddons?
It had an issue on its way to The Greatest Gathering in late July and hasn't come out by rail.

It was removed by road and is currently at West Ruislip.

The LU 4TC did well at the Swanage diesel gala, presumably back at Eastleigh?
So far no further appearances at other galas or Met line announced.
The MHR diesel gala will feature the 4VEP 3417.
And Bluebell diesel gala hope to have a 4-CIG 1753 in NSE livery.
