Hi All,
As GMP have requested Metrolink Don't run through the City Center where will the fleet that are on the Eccles and Altrincham Line be stored tonight, will they be allowed through the City empty or go to Old Trafford Depot?

The Old Trafford depot is mainly used for the new trams.

I imagine there's an issue as we speak, in that the Media:City shuttle should have finished by now with Eccles trams going via Media:City in the evening. Plus where are the drivers changing over?

Someone was rugby tackled by half a dozen police when he tried to attack one in the city centre, thats why they were stopped from entering the city centre. Theres uncomfirmed rumours that they managed to derail one somewhere else and thats why the whole networks been shut down.

Bury shouldn't be an issue as the trams can still safely access Queen's Road Depot from there.

It's the trams on the Chorlton, Eccles and Alty lines that will be tricky, though as reported trams can be kept at Alty fairly easily and there's already some at MediaCity UK. Old Trafford depot is an option if all else fails, as it is rail connected albeit not officially used as yet.

Be interesting to know what the status is.

How many trams can be safely stored at Bury station and at Altrincham station in emergencies as this?

At Bury I imagine they can safely store trams there as they can lock off access to the platforms. However, at Altrincham, Media:City, Eccles and St Werburgh's Road they could leave trams there but they wouldn't be safely stored. In fact I think Old Trafford Metrolink stop would be the safest place south of Deansgate (other then the depot) to leave trams, as they can lock off access there.

I was surprised they stored trams at Media City:UK. I would of thought the track around Cornbrook was the safest place to store Eccles line trams overnight.
