I’m sorry but that’s utter nonsense. Three trains got stranded as they couldn’t draw power from the 3rd rail. None were anywhere near stations and road access was impossible. Traincrew and passengers were stranded overnight with at least one unit losing hotel power as well. It certainly was not a non-incident and should be avoided going forward. From memory a cross country unit was used running wrong direction and did a side to side evacuation.
Are we talking about different incidents? The one I'm talking about was the train that was stuck in the platform at a station (forget if it was Ashurst New Forest or Brockenhurst now I think on) and passengers were able to leave it but mostly chose not to. I'll see if I can find the BBC News article.
