Apologies if there's already a thread for this operator but I can't find one on any search. I'm sure admin will merge if so! Four brand new Yutong E12s were on the road today on the 4 (Ayr - Glasgow) service today. They are 73053-6 (YK74PMV/X/Y and YK74PNE). Does anyone know how many are due...

Didn't the 97 used to use open toppers?

Scotland wide could improve on open-top and more leisure routes. I guess in the Highlands it's a much greater area.

There needs to be open toppers in Ayr. A City Siteseeing operation would be nice, as would a Skegness-style seasider service.

I can imagine the open toppers on the 97… but a city sightseeing for ayr would never happen

There was an E400 56 plate was ment to be for the 97 a few years back but never came to fruition, They have LX58 CFP 15024 open topper Scania already in Steel Blue so I wonder if it'll see use come March when the 97 starts again

Are you aware that Ayr contains the birthplace of Robert Burns? Are you aware that there are several other historically interesting places in Ayr?

In that case, why not create a sightseeing company in Ayr? We'll then see if it's profitable...

I am aware yes, but I doubt it would be viable considering the low amount of tourism at times in Ayr itself, excluding the birthplace of Robert Burns and possibly the beach and town centre.

You’ll be surprised how busy Ayr can get in the warmer months. There were huge crowds at the air show last September.

I agree it would be lovely, but also agree that there is neither sufficient demand nor interesting places for it to serve.

Yes but... storing open-top buses for in excess of six months each year is a cost in itself. It's the reason summer rail excursions ended, maintaining vehicles for weather-dependent seasonal services doesn't make commercial sense.

No it’s usually raining, cloudy or windy. Couple days a year it might be sunny that’s really it
