Just trying to search Banbury-Bath Spa departing this Friday on London Midland and Eat Coast website, but the outward leg around 12:00 it just won't let me select any tickets. However, on XC website it will let me. Any idea what's wrong with the website?

Could be something to do with the fastest journeys involving a change at Reading but the cheapest tickets are routed Didcot Parkway? NRE shows this (wrongly) as valid.
On a side note, why is the Didcot Parkway ticket priced by XC but the Not London priced by FGW? Surely the other way round would make more sense (Not London being valid via Reading, see Easement 82).
edit: Having written that, a more sensible reason would be that perhaps the WebTIS Journey Planner doesn't understand Easement 82 and thus thinks all the journeys it comes up with are not permitted.
On a side note, why is the Didcot Parkway ticket priced by XC but the Not London priced by FGW? Surely the other way round would make more sense (Not London being valid via Reading, see Easement 82).

I've just seen your edit, and I was going to say - I' pretty sure I tried all the "slower route" options and nothing before about 7pm would show.
Also, when I checked the journey on NRE, the validity code for the off-peak return (£36.50) doesn't state anything about a specific route, just after xx:00am.
It doesn't look like I'm even going to Bath now plans have changed, but out of curiosity, can you explain fully what the different range of tickets are and which routes they are valid on? Just because NRE makes no mention to any route (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/pdfs/SVR_2V.pdf), so I don't know where WebTIS has got via Didcot from in the first place.

WebTIS sites are booking tickets, but just come up with "error" whenever I use the "via/avoid" option.

I'm not sure it's down problems with the site, it still doesn't work. If you specify "Avoid Reading" then the fares do show up. WebTIS clearly doesn't understand the relevant easement (or that it should show slower journeys when no fares are available on the fastest trains).
1) The 'show slower routes' doesn't always work so well IME, often missing out routes which for some reason it deems not worth bothering with
2) The routeing restrictions are separate from the ticket restrictions. To see them on NRE, click "view details" above the list of fares after selecting the fare you're interested in, it will then show you the route as printed on the ticket. (They are clearly shown in WebTIS)
3) The available routeings are (for Off Peak Returns):
- Didcot Parkway, £36.50
- Not London, £60.00 (SSR, £46.00)
