What format did you receive your medical report? Was it via post or email? I passed my medical about a month ago and haven’t heard anything. Did email HR a few weeks ago but haven’t had a response.
I got mine emailed to me about a week after.

I’ve had my offer but never actually received my medical report lol. The doctor showed me everything anyway but still. Seems like medical part for everyone’s a bit dodgy.
Ah thanks for that, got a bit worried my medical report had got lost somewhere so that’s reassuring to hear.

Hi all I’ve just received an email regarding my application being under review by the hiring manager, do you know roughly it will take for a response letting me know if I’ve been accepted or not

Does anyone know where the training centre actually is in Bristol and what accommodation do they put you in normally (which hotel?).

Thanks in advance

It's at St Philips Marsh (right next to KFC)

Hotel wise they change it up it seems every week.

Hi. HNY all! Has anyone been to through the assessment centre psychometric tests yet? If so, was the Group Bourdon test on paper or on computer? Also, were the groups of dots inside boxes or 'loose' on each page? I have found both online. TIA

They were on paper and not in boxes.

Been invited to attend DMI.

October 2025 applicant for Bristol Temple Meads.
Hi. Well done! I just booked my assessment day for Westbury. Do you mind if I ask a few questions?
1. My email didn't mention an MMI, just the tests. Is that what you experienced? If so, did you do the MMI another time?
2. Did you find out on the day if you passed the psychometric tests?
Thanks lots!

That sounds fairly quick. Would you mind breaking down what the process was like in terms of time?
- Applied 10 Oct 25. Did 2 psychometric tests at this point. Situational judgement and error checking.
- Application with the hiring manager on 27 Oct.
- Invited to video interview 20 Nov (did it on 24th)
- Notified by email that passed video interview on 1 Dec.
- Invite to DMI 5 Jan by email.

I have train driver psychometrics passed already so I'm able to skip this stage.

And yes, I agree this is moving extremely fast. I'm in the process with XC and that's 2 years and 4 months and counting since application. One year anniversary in the talent pool for XC is approaching .

I've already done the psychometrics so didn't receive any invites to them. However, to answer your questions:

1. If it didn't mention MMI then it's probably a different date pending you passing the paper and computer tests. I think if you trawl the thread, it seems GWR do it this way. Starting to make some notes for MMI at this stage is not a bad idea anyway.

2. From my experience when I did them before. I did them in 2 stages over separate days. Paper tests - did them and then was notified a week later with the good news by the TOC. Computer tests - they let you know on the day then straight to MMI if you passed them. In my MMI they let me know the outcome straight after but I know not all test centres do this.

Hi Ben, I had my DMI in July. Got a call in early November with an offer if I passed the medical, which I booked that week. Hope it helps!!!

Welp unfortunately I’m now not on the February course. In spite of the fact that I passed my medical, recruitment had some queries for occupational health which haven’t been answered seemingly so I now won’t be offered a place in February and who knows when I’ll get a chance again.

Hello. If you don’t mind me asking, did you mention any health issues to them? Did they give you a reason why they won’t move you forward this time? Is it your ECG?

They didn’t specify unfortunately. My ECG was clear, passed to the highest scores for sight and vision. The only knock against me was my BMI but I’m actively losing weight and perfectly fit and able so the doctor signed me as fit to work. I have asked what the queries were if they could tell me but haven’t had a response yet. Given my medical was over a month ago I’m pretty disappointed.

So you passed the medical, had a job offer, and now they have taken that back?!

Hi Jimmy. My name is Rob. My profile nickname does make it look like im called Ben haha. Thanks for that. I had my DMI in early September so hoping I'll hear soon about a potential start date with any luck. Obviously it depends how many places they have to fill but you waiting just 4 months is pretty good going. Best of luck with it all!

Never got the formal offer, that’s what I was chasing them up about even though I did pass the medical. Hopefully Exeter need a driver on the April course people are mentioning.

Im similar. I've bought a hands free just in case they called while im driving. Would be awful to miss their call!
I missed my call but I gave a call back in 5 minutes. They leave you a voicemail, but it’s crucial to get back to them as soon as you can.
They told me that some people didn’t come back to them before I did and therefore they put me into the April course and move them behind. Idk if it helps anyone.
