RTT showing 2D15, 2D28, 2J29 and 2J36 as 455710 + 455873 as well (and I assume the rest of the days work)

Can anyone verify if the laminated posters are official or some enthusiast has put them up? They are laminated posters stuck onto the doors of the 455s.
E.g. one poster reads: “Farewell British Rail Class 455” … “This poster was sponsored by Léthaniel Metals” with a picture of a Class 455 on it
Seen a different variant of farewell posters a few weeks back:
The end is nigh for the South Western Class 455s
1983-2025 (2026?)
SWR staff please do not remove poster until train has been sent to scrap

They look tatty and awful. An enthusiast has stuck them up, and the following: “SWR staff please do not remove poster until train has been sent to scrap” is just embarrassing.

Last week’s Windsor Lines peak 455 diagram WM605 seems to have been replaced by a 458/5, today it is 458530.

2R02 0601 Hounslow to London Waterloo https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:P62224/2025-12-15/detailed#allox_id=0

But today’s afternoon services haven’t yet got an allocation:

2S47 1552 London Waterloo to Weybridge https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:P62262/2025-12-15/detailed
Correct. That is theoretically a diagram used to swap things out midday, so that is prob why PM doesn't get allocated until late.

Not to mention very hopeful given it appears to be covering up paid-for commercial advertising space.

Are there planned to be any regular diagrams on Saturday or Sunday? Not possible for me to schlep to London during the week, nor did I get a ticket on either railtour :(

I am assuming there are no services planned to use 455s after the two farewell tours this coming Sunday 21/12/2025. So I would rule out this coming Sunday and that only leaves Saturday 20/12/2025. Mind you a ticket for the Sunday farewell might be tempting.Sold Out.

Note I said planned !.

Nope 455's are timetabled until Tuesday the 23rd. After that a few will be kept in Wimbledon on warm storage until sometime in January incase a 701 fails to replace it.

But if I were you I wouldn't bet on any 455's running after the 23rd.

According to the recently published SWR Unit diagrams as at 14/12/2025: https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/diagrams there are no scheduled 455 workings at weekends anymore.

You might be lucky if there are any substitutions especially as there is Rugby at Twickenham on Saturday.

As there are major engineering works between Clapham Junction and Waterloo from close of service on 24/12/2025 until early morning on 05/01/2026, there won't be any need for 455 operation as there will be plenty of spare more modern EMUs sitting doing nothing during that period. After that I don't think there will be any 455s being used at all.

Planned to be 1 pair out on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st. (Plus the two pairs on the tours on Sunday.)
Then 3 pairs out Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd, with all 3 pairs finishing at Wimbledon Park Depot on Tuesday 23rd with none out on Christmas Eve.

That is as I would have expected tbh, with circuits 601/2 & 603/4 (as per this week) being modified (again) post evening peak on Tuesday* to get them back on depot (WD). Whether both these circuits run their full length (passenger service wise) might be open to question, and may well likely revolve around L/T crew duties in the main. I have my suspicions as to the way it will go, but if anyone is looking at 2F73, 2320 Waterloo to Woking on Tuesday, I would suggest it may well be a 701 or 8 car 450..? - that's my best guess btw, nothing more!

(* as they are down to three sets this week, I can't see any further revisions to these just for next Monday/Tuesday, other than my comments here - but will stand corrected?)

BOLD - edited by me as an afterthought.

It's the same 3 diagrams as this week on Monday and Tuesday next week. The diagrams are altered after the last passenger services to get them back to Wimbledon Park Depot.
So the last 3 booked 455 services would be on Tuesday; 2D78 2245 Guildford to London Waterloo, 2F80 2304 Woking to London Waterloo and 2F73 2320 London Waterloo to Woking.

A big thank you to those posting updates here. Tonight, I was able to bash 5710+5873 on the 1903 Waterloo to Surbiton, 5870 on the 1957 Surbiton - Earlsfield and finally 5737+5721 on the 2033 Earlsfield - Waterloo. Well worth going into the office today! That's it for me, unless any sneak into the New Year on reserve.

WM601/602 has been short formed with 5870 on the am peak service.

WM603/604 is allocated to 5721/5737.

Today’s WM605/606 appears to be covered by 701012.

The end is nigh, only one and a half pairs out, as in only three 455s in service !.

2G57/2G68 are showing as 5710/5873 on Real Time Trains, so presumably a swap happening at some point?
Doesn't look like a swap happening in the day, possible a wrong allocation originally? 701012 is at the moment down as doing the WM701 701 diagram all day with those 455s on the 455 one.

5719/5729 are covering for a 701 diagram as well. Think that's three and a half pairs out, hopefully the 4 car can be replaced with an 8 car for the evening peak though is perhaps unlikely.

Assuming the TIDs (1Zxx) are correct at source, some interesting siding 'track bashes' for those on board. I know the BLS is a driver in these things, but also good on everyone else involved to make this happen.

Yes, although I'm not going on the railtour I'd have appreciated Staines Up loop and Feltham arrival road!

I actually travelled on a couple of 455s on the East Putney - Wimbledon section in the late 80s when NSE provided a replacement service on behalf of LU due to weekend engineering works on Putney rail bridge. Imagine such flexibility and cooperation these days!

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

455732 did the honours on 2C16, 0709 Reading to Waterloo this morning, in place of the ususl 701 (which has only made it once this week so far). Unsurprisingly the train ran fast from Staines to Waterloo due to overcrowding.

This has been the first appearance of a 455 on Reading services for quite a while and I wonder if it will have been the very last.

It then operated the 2V45 Waterloo-Waterloo via Hounslow. No longer on that diagram though, currently awaiting departure on the 18:43 to Shepperton, if it keeps on that diagram it'll be running Shepperton services through this evening.
