What are the closest stations to each other in other countries?

By this i mean stations that are almost next to each other or about a one minute walk apart. It can be stations on two separate lines. Or even consecutive stations on the same line if any very close ones happen to exist.

In the UK we have dozens of examples of stations that are almost next to each other but are still two separate stations with separate names. Catford and Catford Bridge in London. London Kings Cross and London Saint Pancras in London. Saint Budeaux Ferry Road and Saint Budeaux Victoria Road in Plymouth. Heath High Level and Heath Low Level in Cardiff. Probably a few others i have forgotten. So i am thinking of any like these.

The closest that i can think of are Aardla and Kirsi located South of Tartu in Estonia. For some weird reason these are two separate stations with two separate names. They are both one track and one platform stations both on single track lines located immediately after the line splits but the stations are directly opposite each other.

This map shows it well:

Screenshot_20260117_193142_Edge.jpg

So any examples like this.

Can anyone think of any other exampes of very close stations like this in other countries?

Rataje nad Sázavou and Rataje nad Sázavou Zastávka (CZ) are a similar arrangement, being situated just across the road from each other where the line splits. The former serves the line to/from Zruč while the latter is for services to/from Kolín.

Surely Bayrisch Eisenstein (D) and Zelezna Ruda Alzbetin (CZ) take the crown as they are contiguous (the border runs through the middle of the station).

What counts as a separate station? Japan has many examples of stations used by multiple companies where each company has its own section separated by a gateline.

Paris Bercy and Gare de Lyon are pretty close. Magenta and Gare du Nord are also very close.
Depending on how the OP is defining this some of the Paris stations have suburban platforms, which seem to be treated separately, Montparnasse in particular has separate parts.
Also Bucharest has Gara du Nord and Basarab close by. Basarab just seems to be an overflow for Gara du Nord.

As of now wishful thinking, but...

When Stuttgart 21 station in Germany opens, there will probably be some overlap when the old station (above ground) and the new station (below ground) will be operational at the same time. Not sure if that would count as two separate stations, though. But rumors hath it that the old station may be renamed to "Stuttgart Hbf (Oben)"; I have somewhere seen a photo of a station sign reading this name (on the German ICE-Treff forum I believe).

Also, there are quite a few stations in Germany that have an above ground part for long distance and regional services as well as an underground part for S-Bahn services (e.g. Stuttgart Hbf, Frankfurt (Main) Hbf, München Hbf). But these probably don't count as they are not different stations?

Yet another fishy candidate is the pair of München Hbf and Hackerbrücke, the latter being an S-Bahn station I believe. From what it seems from a quick look on the map, the platform edges of Hackerbrücke and platform 26 at München Hbf are only about 150m to 200m apart from each other, but it is significantly longer to walk between these two.

Nowhere near as close as the others but shoutout to Germersheim, my old university city :D

1km as the crow flies - essentially the distance of the Manc Ordsall Chord apart.

In the Netherlands Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station is only a 5 minute walk (or 250 meters by railway) away from Amsterdam ArenA station (which is rarely used though, only for special trains for football fans).

And also pretty near eachother though on paper one station: from Amsterdam Sloterdijk to Amsterdam Sloterdijk platform 9/10 (the latter has a seperate station building underneath the "Hemboog" along which the platforms are) is only a 2 minute walk. The ends of platform 9/10 and 11/12 are just 50 meters apart, but you have to leave the station to walk between them.

And from the past: Zoetermeer and Zoetermeer Driemanspolder stations only had the A12 motorway in between them (the latter is now a tram stop)

If they count as separate stations (and S1 and S11 call at both), Marktplatz (Kaiserstraße) and Marktplatz (Pyramide) in Karlsruhe are barely a hundred metres apart.

Yes I'm pretty sure the distance between platform ends at the two stations is quite a lot less than the length of the Hauptbahnhof platforms. But as you say it's more of a trek to walk between them.
(And indeed quite a walk to the above ground platforms in the Hauptbahnhof if you get a train there from Hackerbrücke).

I keep thinking that stops on regional Mannheim to Mainz, Frankfurt and Karlsruhe (especially via Speyer) services seem very close together, but I can't find many closer together than 1.3 km / ¾ of a mile. I think it's because each route is fifty-plus minutes of fairly close stations without large gaps rather than stations necessarily being very close.

Just thought about Friedrichshafen Stadt and Hafen stations, platform ends virtually touch (slight exaggeration, I know, but it looks close), however to walk between them is more than a minute or two.

Shin-Koyasu and Keikyu Shinkoyasu stations in Japan are remarkably close to each other, and according to Google are only about a 45 metre (one minute) walk from each other, entrance to entrance.

As @eldomtom2 says, however, there are plenty more examples in Japan.

Here in Bangkok/THailand, the old Bang Sue station (a junction, where the mainline going west then south splits from the other going north and N/E) is just a few MIns walk beside the grand new white elephant, first also named Bang Sue but then as ´Krung Thep (=BKK) Apiwhat´ now serving all the main line long-dist trains going on those lines. The major BUSstation for the north and N/E is also near beside, named Mochit2 (as the old one was #1). This handles far, far more passengers as the trains do. Prospective passengers for trains going there by MRT=metro (state-run) also have to walk that distance, tough it is covered all the way and by now even better sign-posted as before. It is all on state-owned land, the former far larger repair works for the railways/SRT are also adjacent.
Apiwhat should in the near or far future also even serve the planned/partly under construction new Hi-Speed normal gauge line to connect to Laos and there in the already operational Chinese built ditto line toward Kunming/Mainland China. As for now there are gaps of over 3-4 hrs between some trains in/out and it is kept pristine and neat and thus even lacks the ´anywhere in THailand´ foodstalls and carts one finds in about any place where a few people pass by = thus also about any station.

Warsaw Centralna and Warsaw Srodmiescie are about 1 minute apart on foot. Poznan Glowny and Poznan Letni are even closer.

In Denmark it is probably Copenhagen H. and Vesterport, but Flintholm and Vanløse can’t be much further apart.

In Helsingør in Denmark there used to be a halt in front of the main station called Havnepladsen. It existed for easier transfer to the ferries to Sweden. The train travel distance from the platform at Havnepladsen to the platform at Helsingør was about 300 m. But on foot it was only 100 m to get to the main entrance of Helsingør station.

Havnepladsen halt closed in 2004.

Similarly: the 2 Weerdes and 2 Mortsels, both south of Antwerp. Or Jambes and Jambes-Est (there's a vertical component though). Huizingen and Buizingen (north of Halle) are also very close.

On the SEPTA Regional Rail system in Philadelphia USA Suburban station and Jefferson station (formerly Market East) are about 760m apart, about 5 city blocks.

Also about the same distance apart are the Chestnut Hill East and Chestnut Hill West stations, terminals on 2 different lines that serve the neighborhoods of Chestnut Hill and Mount Airy, originally built by 2 competing railroads (Pennsylvania and Reading railroads) but now under the SEPTA public system.

Also in Bangkok, there's also Asok (SRT), Makkasan (Airport Rail link) and Petchaburi (MRT Blue Line) stations in very close proximity to each other....
