As has been noted, the specific information about which unit will work which diagram typically only becomes known in the small hours of the morning, so you probably would need to buy your ticket on the day.All advice gratefully accepted
Easiest ways are either to look at the service you might want to catch on RTT - By morning you'll be able to see what's running the diagram
Alternatively you can look at Rail Record (link below), search for specifc units and find out which services they are diagrammed to.
The second approach is quite easy at the moment because there are only two trains carrying passengers - 006 and 010, so you can quickly see what each of them is supposed to be doing.
