A Derby loco move is due to arrive at Ely on Wednesday, which could be ahead of a 175 drag (there is already what looks like a Networker scrap drag in earlier on this day so I can see this specific loco move being for that).

That is assuming all of the little faults on each of the units have been rectified, in order to be allowed into Passenger Service.

That is a very important assumption in respect of any maintenance backlog and outstanding repairs, which may not all be 'little' to make the 175 units fit and safe for service.

In the March GWR press release it did state the full fleet wouldn't be in service until "the end of next year", so no rush to get them out of Ely/Wolverton.

Though the chances are that for the next 4 months or so 4 coaches on the majority of the HST operated services is overkill. What is definitely needed is something to fill 3 diagrams.

It's mentioned in post #1783 there's only one simple out and back run/diagram to cover next week so the four "updated" units GWR have should be able to cover that, they will not be running four car 175's on all the current three HST diagrams in the near future if ever.

On today's training runs, the team that deal with the onboard Passenger Information System, were onboard 175003 & then 175001 ensuring that it was working correctly, so that they can enter service. Although there were some other faults with them will need sorting ready for service entry. Both sets worked the stopping patterns without much issue, although as the day went on the wheelslip system got a tryout when pulling away from stations

If the 175s require a repaint before entry into service, it would be impossible to get any working this year. You can't repaint a train in 3 days.

This will commence, as you say on the 15th.

This diagram will then revert to other traction for the Christmas period, commencing 22nd Dec, until 5th Jan when it moves to 175 traction permanently.

It's work to make them operational, such as systems and mechanical work.

The cosmetic work won't happen until after entry into service, so they will go into traffic in TfW colours with interior labelling changed to GWR where essential.
