Hi all, long time no see and all that,
I'm putting together a fictitious destination blind set for an operator in the Essex/London border region for the video game OMSI 2, using Johnston fonts in the style of Kentish Bus/County Bus/Sovereign Bus and Coach as opposed to conventional Helvetica fare, and I've had something of a problem: did the ultimate destination on blinds of this style go on the bottom or the top? And is there any rhyme or reason why they did one, the other or both?
I ask this because I've had a look around Flickr of these operators, and some buses had blinds with a destination at the bottom, with via points at the top, but sometimes on the same route, they have destinations at the top with via points at the bottom.
Was this a either stylistic choice by the operator, a subtle legislative requirement at the time to denote inbound or outbound services, or just some lazy blind setting by the drivers? For example, referring to the Sovereign Bus route 300 between Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage...
