Is Marine depot open on Boxing Day? Looks like services 21, 25, some 26s, 44, 46, 48 and 49 will be operating out of Marine. Usually just Central open on that day.
Marine is never open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. Longstone is normally only open on Boxing Day out of the special service days, but it looks as if that is shut as well this year. Central the only one continuously open. Been like this for quite a long time now. Historically even Longstone wasn’t open on Boxing Day either.

Lots of journeys starting there on Boxing Day. Looks like Marine will be in use.

292 spotted broken down on the A1 eastbound just before Bankton junction. Traffic police in attendance but only for traffic control. The driver was not in uniform so maybe some sort of transfer/maintenance trip?

It would’ve been on its way to Gosford House. I’m not sure what the buses have been doing down there but they’ve been doing this for a week or two now.

193 is now being used on the Car Park shuttle along side bus 12. 192 has additionally repositioned to Longstone so will likely be swapped with 12 soon.
I saw 192 being driven into Longstone earlier this afternoon. I assume it is still being used at the airport.

Has the whole tracker system gone kaput today? Every endpoint I've tried (Lothian app, lvf.io, BusTimes) is reporting no buses on routes/no departures from stops (buses are physically running). Not sure about the on-street screens, I forgot to look.

I can confirm that for the last few hours, no tracking sources seem to have worked (w/ exception of official app).

BusTimes is reporting some buses as Not in Service incorrectly, and some are just not showing up at all.

Lothian's official app also cut out about half an hour ago for me, though it was working before then.

It looks as if the 04:11 reset didn’t occur this morning and thus everything is wrong. The app appears to have had an update to show buses stopping at diverted stops as well. Though I’m unsure if this was recent or last week.

A part of me hopes that this is part of the transition to the new tracking system.
Perhaps the Edinburgh Tracker API is still connected to the old system, but now that the app/website have been shifted to a new one the need for manual input has gone which is why everything is tracking as blank.
That's purely speculation though.

Edit - inspect element shows the following is in use "https://lothianapi.co.uk/". An example here https://lothianapi.co.uk/departureBoards/website?stops=6200243380. Hopefully access becomes available for other developers soon.

bustimes.org seems to pretty much be working again, showing the 'NovWedAL' trip numbers unlike the 3 or 4 digit trip numbers it used to show.
Bustimes has been switched to the new API overnight. So as long as automatic tracking is back on Lothians part, then we should have the end of the system showing wrong buses on routes etc as the AVL should be supplying this automatically now.

On a side note the Driver Trainers are tracking again which is handy if they’re your sort of thing.

noticed they show where the bus is going part route to now instead of just the destination
There does seem to be an issue with the AVLs tracking as part route at the start of runs occasionally. Sometimes it fixes after the second stop and sometimes it just keeps updating the part route location as it goes down the route.

At the start of runs buses show as Unknown and occasionally it is stuck like this for most or all of the route.
Buses which are dead running appear blank. This will sometimes make gaps on routes which have a Not in service trip from the terminating stop to the starting stop, such as the 2 at Hermiston Gait.

However this is a considerable improvement and I'm delighted after all this time it has finally been rolled out. The most important thing is that it has reverted to an automatic system so buses will always track on the correct routes.

Additionally I’ve noticed when a changeover is taking place, the bus reverts to unknown when the outgoing driver logs out and stays as such until the new driver logs back in.

The part route thing doesn’t look to be complicating things too much and usually fixes itself pretty quickly with any history of that removed when the destination reverts. The unknown appears to also be the same once that reverts back to the destination. I am assuming it does this as the journey is now identified by the block number rather than the destination.

I was meaning all the 29s Silverknowes bound are showing “Part Route - Silverknowes” as an example
