On a trip today between Crewe and Manchester (1W55, HD02 with 67017), I tracked the speed and the maximum clocked was 102mph, near Goostrey.
This was using a GPS mobile phone app, so not that accurate.
The train was on time, so no need to rush, and seemingly with a clear run.
Does that suggest 100mph is the maximum for a 67/Mk4 set, and not the 110mph line speed on that stretch (Sandbach to Alderley Edge)?

I’ve done the same and had a reading of 110 on my app.

110mph is the stickered maximum permitted speed for the formation used at TfW. However, if running to time there is little point in actually sitting at that speed northbound between Crewe and Wilmslow; you'll only end up waiting time at Wilmslow.

I should be on the Swansea starter tomorrow, what are its odds of being a MkIV?

The menu and the Full Welsh Breakfast. Very salty bacon but otherwise lovely.

Fun and games yesterday evening at Ludlow. 1W60, 14.55 Swansea to Manchester, as 67022 failed with what I was told by the driver was a massive oil leak. Luckily the train was in the platform so the train doors could be opened as normal. Buses were ordered to take passengers forward to Shrewsbury, via Craven Arms and Church Stretton. The first bus arrived at about 19.15 and a second arrived shortly after. The second of the buses left full and standing. It arrived at Shrewsbury at 20.10 so everybody who needed the 20.20 to Crewe was able to make it easily.

Do we know what wrap HD02 is going in please?
It's not known yet. Apparently they're keeping it quiet for now, that's what I read a few days back.

Not sure if it's actually been mentioned here already, as part of HD02's current B exam it's DVT should be receiving a new wrap (not the lifeboat one 82229 had).

Guess it's matter of waiting for now I suppose!
