Well Scotland tried their best to screw that up, but Denmark tried harder to screw it up. Great last 20 minutes.

Strange week for Darlo:

FC United 3 v Darlo 2 Comedy own goal in the last minutes saw us dumped out of the FA trophy despite being in complete control at half time

Darlo 5 v Peterborough Sports 2 - Darlo in complete control (4-1) nearing half time when one of the floodlights went out, again. Referee took the teams off under pressure form Sports manager Phil Brown. Eventually the lights came back on and the game continued.

Crazy to see that a small constituent country who play in Blue have qualified against all odds for the World Cup.

Also Curacao have qualified.

New Caledonia are also in the international playoff, so when everyone decides what sort of relationship New Cal actually has with France, there is another weird case!

Comfortable win and a hat-trick from Will Harris, which was nice

The ref sent off one from each team, both probably wrongly. Both times she sprinted across to the incident already reaching into her back pocket for the red card. Needs to learn to take a breath and think about what's just happened

Darlo 1 v Spennymoor Town (in their cup final) 0

Curtis Main with a last minute bender in the derby game for one team but not the other. Livened up by a bit of handbags and a double red card. Decent game overall. 4 wins in a row for Darlo. Up to 6th.

Football is mad.

Not only this but the Jota cloud hanging over the club is probably affecting the players. Liverpool have a big problem with their star players becoming too old and failing to adapt the system properly.

They've got a manager who didn't have to change anything last season and rode the wave. This season he's tried to change it up, he's out of his depth.

Such a similarity between champions Man City the previous season who started so well and just fell off a cliff. Liverpool have done exactly the same thing.

The club should have cashed in on Salah. He is too old now to press high up the pitch and it leaves the flank exposed. Kerkez is also a poor signing and I thought so at the time.

Liverpool are very weak beyond the forward line with an ageing Van Dijk and Konaté well off form. Wirtz needs a year in the gym and more protection in midfield from a true bully type like a Mascherano character. Which Liverpool don't have.

For the third time in a row nono has taken a striker of and tried to hold on but today Bournemouth came from 0-2 down to draw. I would hate to follow the hammers now with these run of the mill managers who play not to lose instead of going for it. The game is surely gone to pot.

If my memory serves me right. 1983 4 or 5 when Liverpool won the league their only defeat at home was to Wolves. And sadly Wolves went down.

If my memory serves me right. 1983 4 or 5 when Liverpool won the league their only defeat at home was to Wolves. And sadly Wolves went down.

1-0 January 1984 Steve Mardenborough got the goal. Wolves finished 21 points from safety that season yet took 4 points off Liverpool.

Stevie Mardenborough - there is a name to conjure with! Won the conference and 4th Division with Darlington. A great player for us, legendary for those of us of certain age! His son Jaan ( who is a racing driver after wining a computer game competition) was also born in Darlo

I remember him playing for Newport, always seemed to score against us

And apropos Darlo, I remember my going to watch Peterborough v Darlo in the late 80s with my uncle, who had a season ticket at London Road. It's the only time I've been at a game where the home fans stood and applauded an opposition player for a goal he scored against their team. I *think* it was David Currie, certainly a striker with dark hair in a bit of a mullet

I didn’t know about his son being a racing driver, I’ve had a look at Mardeborough’s career record he certainly moved around a bit! I must be of certain age as I remember playing Darlington in the eighties, only home games in those days I couldn’t afford away games I did make it to Feethams for the FA cup tie in 98.

David Currie there’s a blast from the past I remember him playing against us for Barnsley and scoring a few, I think there was a bit of a mullet going on.
