Morning All... Had the delight this morning, of being 'Woken Up' by 'Brittania'. Shunting in Eastleigh East yard, with the Royal Scot set.. All the Blood and Custards looked fabulous with the Black of the engine! Isn't it handy to have windows that loook out onto the yard!! MAGIC.... Just think what it would have been like out there 50 years ago, before the mass slaughter of the 1962 Axe!!!

Most people in those days who were not railway enthusiasts would have been cheesed off with shunting movements waking them up in the early hours!

Some things never change, you're always going to get someone buying a house then realise there's a railway line next door who then becomes a serial complainer, :roll:

Here is is some hours later doing a bit more than shunting. Passing Kimbridge crossing between Romsey and Salisbury.

The axe began in '63, and Steam was axed from 1955 - 1968. ;)
