Anything advertising "Black Friday." And it's not just one day any more, it's the whole of November. I even heard an advert referring to "Black Friday Season."

Spar/Eurospar NI's "12 Weeks of Christmas" start, yup, twelve weeks before Christmas and each offer lasts a week. Admittedly they are great offers though.

Dreams advert - why does a mattress need to be alive? Why is it's face so off centre? And why is it so keen to be purchased knowing it means people will be lying on its face and suffocating it?

Anthropomorphism is hardly new in advertising, and it works. As for a mattress wanting human contact, - so do many real humans.

There's a new advert for a Google Smartwatch and in the middle of the advert he says "Ok Google...." and it sets off my phone which also has Gemini enabled on it.

I thought there was a ban on anyone saying anything in any public broadcast that could trigger these various devices that have sprung up in the past decade or so?

I'd complain about that one...

In what 'other way' is that advertisement "annoying".
Sadly the edit means it can be summarised as Jeff Bezos pushing three nanas off a mountain.

And why is it so keen to be purchased knowing it means people will be lying on its face and suffocating it?
Wouldn’t you be happy at the prospect of an attractive person lying on you in their underwear? :E

As for annoying adverts, Pepto-Bismol surely wins all the awards? Ten years at drama school and the pinnacle of your career is singing about how you got the squits.

Don't forget the pink overalls.....

It's the time of year for painfully pretentious adverts for perfumes and scent......each of them are equally loathsome

Far better to let it all wash over you. That's not what the ad men want, so much more satisfying.

According to both Henry Cooper and Kevin Keegan back in the 70s, you just splash it on, rather than wash it over you! ;)

Hi Karate was my favourite from that era.....the woman demolishing the apartment with martial arts moves trying to get to the guy wearing the stuff.....!

Now we get some preposterously dressed idiot with ludicrous hair staring thoughtfully into space with some pretentious gibberish in a voice over.

If I ever see an ad for my Hermés Eau de Rhubarbe like that, I'll stop buying it. I think they're too classy for that, however, and they don't need the money either......not when their scarves are £750 a pop!

I am not sure of the actual weight of a single tin of Heinz baked beans, but in the part of the advert that shows the man packing his holiday suitcase, the number of those items in the suitcase not only would have made less spaces for his holiday clothing, but would have increased the weight of the suitcase which could have passed the limit for air travel suitcase weight allowances. With the importaation of drugs into countries, the X-Ray machines at airports would certainly have picked up multiple canned items of the same shape in a single suitcase.

Who will ever forget the parody of the "Beanz Meanz Heinz" advertising that all good cowboy films showed the after-effects of eating baked beans. The man in the TV advert must be a chronic sufferer of those unfortunate side-effects to the detriment of people near to him.

415g per tin, so yes - that hypothectical suitcase would be well overweight.

I once stuffed a small suitcase full of Petit Ecolier biscuits like that in Paris ( at the time they weren't sold in the UK; they are now ) and I forgot to consider that each box contained two foil wrapped packs of biscuits... Got taken apart when I checked in at Gare du Nord... then when they fopund what it was, one of the security bods held a packet of the biscuits up and said in a loud voice "It's these!" to considerable amusement among the rest of the staff, who had all gathered round to see what was causing those shapes on the X-Ray machine...

The Sainsbury’s Christmas advert with the BFG. So sugary that it should come with a health warning.
Agreed, but to be parochial for a second, it does have one redeeming feature IMO......the young woman Sainsbury's employee has a lovely Edinburgh accent!

On the beach adverts - the smug entitlement of that family is disgusting

That fella with the pork pie hat should be pushed down a lift shaft!

Not television ads, but YouTube has ramped up the annoyance by a factor of 50. Other than the timing, I previously didn't object too much to the adverts as they were fairly short. However, YT has now seen fit to shove "infomercial"-type advertising into its videos, some of them several minutes long. While they can be skipped after a few seconds, it's irritating to have to do this several times during a video.

I'm using the YouTube app via a Chromecast so there's no obvious way for me to block them, either.

Worst of all with YouTube, for me, is when an ad comes on part way through a song aargh!

Totally fed up of adverts being replaced instead by TV programme plugs....the same ones constantly.
When you see an ad break without actual ads and just promos it means that the network is allocating it's permitted advertising time limits to another show which will gain more viewers. Usually ITV are bad at this and you see the ITVX/ITV1 promos throughout the break.

So if you see a programme like "Wheel of Fortune" go out with just promos, a later programme such as "Britain's Got Talent" will attract more advertisers thus equalling more revenue for the channel and therefore ITV will use the breaks then for advertising.

Noting this rather ridiculous advert is still running, do I take it that the unfortunate man in the TV advert had booked a self-catering overseas holiday in which he would need to provide all his own food during the holiday period?

Next time I make my weekly visit to the NHS clinic, in which the District Nurse and the locum both currently discuss treatment change, I will ask them to let me know what is the medical name for the affliction that the man suffers from that causes him to react in the manner portrayed in that advert.
