Am I right in thinking that the current state of the BZLs so far is;
In service: 700-765, 767-769, 771, 774-776, 784-785, 789 and 794
At Seafield: 766, 778-779, 782, 790 and 792-793
Not yet accounted for: 770, 772-773, 777, 780-783, 786-788, 791 and 795-798

Marines current BZL’s will be allocated to the service 5 this Sunday with the 45 being operated by central

I'm surprised that they tested them out on the 45 route firstly, it's a good route but of all the Marine routes, (4,5,21,26,49) etc.. I thought they would of been better suited for a more regular service.

No change to depots. 45 is run by central on Sundays

The 45 probably gives the ideal charging opportunities when combined with the 5. If you went for 2 all day/7 day a week services then you’d be substituting 5’s for diesels constantly. Not just this, other than the 15, no other route has the numbers to use them when paired with the 5. They’re all way too many. I suspect going forward, the 5 and 19 will share Marine’s on a Sunday.
The 26 is far too busy for BZL’s as well.

The 45 also terminates at the depot, so a perfect opportunity to changeover if necessary. These are new to marine drivers and its first couple of weeks in service.

Quite a few odd allocations over the last few days.
36 BG64 FXK was operating a 16 from Elm Row to Silverknowes on 12/11
34 BG64 FXH operating on the 10 between Ocean Terminal and Bonaly today 13/11.
37 BG64 FXM operating on the 16 between Silverknowes and Torphin today 13/11 along with it having a day on the service 10 yesterday 12/11.
39 BT64 LHU operating service 23 between Trinity & Greenbank 10/11.
40 BT64 LHV Operated service X47 yesterday between City Centre & Cammo 12/11.

Also, I suppose less "unusual", bus 36 was out on an evening board of the 1 on Tuesday. Central are down a number of buses just now:
There's a good chance (although not 100%) that 7900s 1/2 are in place of double deckers. 1125 is still appearing on the 100 (although it did run the 14 yesterday), 1065 is still off service due to damage and is at Ferrymill motors, 748e is currently at Volvo and 696 is on loan to Longstone due to 669s recent accident.
766, 778 and 779 moved to Central earlier. Although this will probably directly displace three 11 plates to Longstone, and the expectation would be that 1150/3 and one of 933/5 will be removed from service. That being said, I can see both 09 plates staying in service for now to allow 696 to return to Central, with them acting as relief due to the buses off the road for damage (570 and 669).

Just to add all 7 of those that were at Seafield have moved to their respective depots now. 766, 778 and 779 into service mostly yesterday but are all out today. The next 4 for Marine are not yet out.
A few photos of 3 more on delivery to Cardonald yesterday, so as was suggested by someone I would expect there’s only another delivery run or two left. 14 left to be delivered to Lothian, those 3 would take it down to 11.

Not to our knowledge, I don't think Lothian first hit Haddington till 2001-2002 anyway (unless I'm wrong) and that was Haddington-Fairmilehead.

Yeah, it was very short lived and Lothian wouldn't return to Haddington untill 12 years later in 2014, i could never find a Timetable of the 15 back then, or photos of the 15 in Haddington no matter how hard i tried, i could only find photos from back when it served Tranent.

The only reason I've ever been able to come up with myself for this is maybe they want to leave space between the numbers of different batches and eliminate the possibility of batches being numbered in a different series which could be used for a future order of vehicles. For example the last...

Does anyone know where I can find the list of council-subsidised journeys for East Coast Buses, particularly service 124? I've tried the council website but it doesn't have this particular information, and the general information it does have appears to be incorrect (says that service 124 terminates at Princes Street).
No, there hasn't. Would such a service work?
There's a news release from ELC in March 2025. It says 124 "evening journeys" are supported - whatever that means.
I was only wondering as I used the Gifford Circle service and I noticed the road to Dalkeith via Pencaitland.

Very rural. There is nothing in Dalkeith that you can’t get in Haddington in my opinion.

The closest thing that comes to mind is the old 328/329/330. I know Edinburgh Coach Lines last ran this but I’m sure Munro’s ran it before that. That did Tranent-Dalkeith via Elphinstone and Cousland as part of a much bigger circle route. This was effectively many of the council routes you see now, but combined into one super route.

Service 123 served Tranent on Sundays at one point so it could be this.

Historically the 123 did Tranent to Haddington all days I think, with no circle. Haddington-Bolton-Gifford-Pencaitland-New Winton-Tranent.
There was also a 133 Musselburgh to New Winton, which ran via Whitecraig, Crossgatehall and Elphinstone.
The 110 used to extend beyond Elphinstone to Dalkeith and I’m sure this was the precursor to the 328/329/330. I suspect this would’ve been for operational convenience though as it allowed First to run the 110 from Dalkeith rather than Musselburgh.
