Hi,

I recently got caught travelling without a ticket and my case has gone to the prosecutor. I’ve just moved houses recently and as of habit gave my old address instead of my new one. I’ve contacted the.prosecutions regarding my incorrect information however I’m concerned about a criminal record being produced because of this mistake. What should I do to get an out of court settlement.

I was travelling from Rainham Kent to Dartford and got stopped by the Thameslink inspectors. This has only happened to me yesterday and I have not received any letter from the prosecutor. I am trying not to receive a criminal record of being prosecuted. Is there anything I can do to avoid being prosecuted

Do you mean you were only stopped yesterday?
If so you need to put in place arrangements to get post from the address you gave or get it redirected by Royal Mail. Could be weeks or even months before they write to you.

If you were given paperwork with a ref number on it you could e mail your change of address to the railway prosecution unit.
