Hi Connor, I also applied for this position and have been placed in the talent pool after interview. How did you get on? Does anyone have any idea if talent pools actually lead to employment?

Hi Marcy, I applied for this position too and had my interview last week. Passed the interview but put into talent pool. How did you get on?

Hi whistlestop, i am in same position as yourself, in the talentpool list.

Have you heard anymore or even feom anyone who has been selected from the talent pool?

I passed my final interview 10 months ago. I think everyone who passed was placed in a "talent pool". No job offer / called for a medical or update.

How long is a piece of string is constantly quoted. Sometimes you hear that people are called forward in a couple of days. Other times it's months. Totally depends on the area, job type and recruitment planning.

If you do pass, good luck but can be a long and frustrating wait
Have you got a job now?

If it’s any help to you, i applied for a G2 signaller role at a specific site back in may, I wasn’t successful for that specific site but they kept me on the talent pool and about a 2 months later I was offered a position to work in an area rather than a specific box, I start training next week. So it does happen I guess it just depends on where you apply for etc but maybe someone with more experience would be able to give you more info.

Does anybody know how much a G10 SSM typically takes home after Sundays, night shift allowances etc?

I believe you don't need experience as a signaller, from what I've heard is they are looking for someone with management experience etc

Glasgow, and no signaller experience but yeah it’s just management experience of large teams you need in an operational environment.

Complete basic month with no nights or Sundays expect around £3200 take home
With a couple of Sundays and a handful of nights a month it’ll be about £4100 take home
Add a couple of rest days and well, I’m sure you can work the rest out for yourself.

Hi,

I applied for a Kent area and passed the online assessment on 15/09. Since then, I waited for 3 weeks to hear that I was not shortlisted, and I moved my application to another Kent G2. Unfortunately, I received the same email yesterday stating that I was not shortlisted and that I need to resubmit my application for another open position. It is really frustrating!

If there is any position available greater than G2, am I able to apply with my current passed assessment for G2?

Can someone share any tips for preparing for the Assessment Day?

Thank you!

I don't suppose anyone has heard anything regarding the recent posts that were advertised around Manchester?

A quick question, I have been given the job for the area of low row where during IST I apply for a box, what boxes are included within this area? Is it Brampton fell, Milton, low row and Haltwhistle? Didn’t know if any others were included
Kind regards

Hi folks

My friend who is with Network Rail has sent me an advert for a Shift Signalling Manager role in Glasgow.

The job spec is essentially what I have, management qualifications, NEBOSH and a 9001 auditor.

Just wondering what it entails? I have looked up loads of information for signalling roles but not management position.

Shifts, leave, overtime, does the 1 hour travel rule also apply?

Thanks

Hi all, just checking to see if anyone on here applied for the recent Eastleigh G7 position, and if so if you've been booked on the assessment centre yet?
I've been waiting three weeks since passing the online assessments and haven't received an email from them since the 30th Oct. Cheers

Low Row, Brampton Fell and Corby Gates.

Milton Village, Denton Village and Lane Head are the grade 1 crossing keepers.

Hi, Ive recently applied for a Grade2 position in the Bangor North Wales area. All accepted on the online applications and tests but Ive not been accepted to the in person interview due to me being 55-60mins away not the 50. Is there any way to contest it or anything I can do. Was very keen on this position.

Afternoon everyone. I was hoping some experienced signallers could settle a debate.

We are both rostered to work Boxing Day in an 8 hour shift. I have it taken as annual leave and he is working it. Will our pay be any different? He is adamant his is higher.

Got a few beers riding on this so I’m hoping I’m right

As this is their rule I don't think there is much you can do about it, I'm afraid. They have to have a limit, and I have no doubt there are plenty of other applicants who are within the limit.

So everyone gets the same regardless of whether they take annual leave
Actually, thinking about it now I think I might be wrong! I'll bow out of the conversation until someone else can say for certain either way, sorry!

Annual leave is paid at basic rate, so you'd get a days pay at your grade.

Your colleague will get RDW at 325% no lieu day or 225% plus a lieu day as it's a Boxing Day, either way your colleague will earn more.

Hi guys,

have passed the online assesment and have been invited to do an online interview.
Anyone got any tips or what type of questions they will ask.
Thanks
Hello,

Did you get a response regarding this question, or have you done the video interview and can offer any tips please as to what they may ask, how it was?

Many thanks

You cannot have AL on a Bank Holiday. It does not come out of your quota, you are just Booked Off.

But it’s a rostered shift so surely no OT right?

Have got a Interview via online for the G2 Role at Stirling (On the 19th). Wondering for any tips etc, Already know recommend to do the STAR method for the questions, which have already prepared for both things that went well overall and what started poorly/ things going wrong and how managed to turn them around. Have as well now completed the Presenation prep/ made one up going by the documents received.

Afternoon all. Just wondering if anyone applied for the high peak role recently, and has heard whether they're through to the assessment day? I've passed all the online but have been waiting for the best part of 2 weeks as to whether I'm invited to the assessment day?

Hi there, I'm in the same position as you. I passed all of the online stuff and am still waiting on an invite for an assessment day. I emailed them last week and got an "apology for the delay" reply. From reading this forum it seems pretty common for this process to take a few months.

The Assessment day. As being done Virtually was told on the phone a hour for the actual interview and 30 minutes for the Presentation.

Hello all,

Came across an advert for a grade two Signaller in Alrewas (Lichfield way).

Anyone have information on the box and it's shift pattern, typical workload etc.

Thanks In advance
